Rev Dennis
I have a set of 6 pistons on the front of my '07 SGT with 18" GT500 wheels. I would think the equivalent rears would fit under the stock 07-09 GT500 wheels also, but the brake info says "fits under the 20" Razor wheels". Does anyone have these rear extremes under stock GT500 wheels?
dbackg
Depending on how the rear brakes were installed. I had to dismount my rear 20" alocoa's. i put on the stock 2008 GT500 wheels and they fit .... with very little room.
Rev Dennis
Thanks dbackg. "very little room" . Good news Mon. All that is needed is "room". So very little is sufficient. This is Good news. I like the stock 18" GT500 wheels.
DrKSGT
Thanks dbackg. "very little room" . Good news Mon. All that is needed is "room". So very little is sufficient. This is Good news. I like the stock 18" GT500 wheels. Please be careful regarding very little room on rear brakes. Light duty street use will probably be ok. Any agressive cornering could be a disaster. High g cornering loads cause axle shafts to float to their extremes and then wheel and axle flange camber deflections set in as tire get side loaded. I have seen more than 5 mm of axial movement of wheel moving inboard at the brake caliper. I even have a tape of caliper as car is put through a serpintine coarse and the caliper are pryed open and you see nearly 3 mm between both brake pads to the rotor. Brake pedal going to the floor was drivers sign of how bad brakes were dislodged. Just some more opinion when matching brakes to wheels. I have Wilwood 4 piston calipers on the back and they fit fine in my GT500 wheels, if you can get the measurements of the Shelby Extremes I can measure the thickness of mine and that might help Andrew
