Duncan4169
Torco Accelerator Unleaded Race Fuel Concentrate (Case of 6 32oz Cans) Torco Accelerator is not just another fuel additive. It's simply a RACE FUEL CONCENTRATE! With many of the same additives our race fuel possesses, Torco Accelerator is a blend of components which will transform the make up of premium pump gas to closely resemble race fuel. Torco Accelerator will lower the end burn temperature which will make your fuel burn more complete thus releasing all of the power that your engine has to offer. Efficiency equals horse power! All this- while raising the octane of your fuel. Mix a 32oz can of Torco Accelerator to 10 gallons of 91 Premium Unleaded to make an efficient 102 octane race gas, mix with 5 gallons of premium unleaded to make whopping 105 Octane. Accelerator is unleaded, so it won’t harm sensitive O2 sensors or catalytic converters Un-chain yourself from the drum! Anyone use this stuff and does it work I've heard octane boosters are a waste of money and don't do anything? Lethal and evo both sell it. Let me know your thoughts

Afdharley
Kenne Bell web site has some information on this. I've asked about octane boosters and been told that some do in fact work but should not be used all the time.
E.Marquez
Torco works... personally proved it. I departed my home town with my 93 tune, and most gas stations serving it up.. Drove to El Paso and quickly discovered, 93 was not as common in TX as I thought..... I had two weeks stuck in El Paso....so I ordered a new 91 tune, but in the mean time, had to use Torco... I had detonation with 91 alone, after a can of Torco, no detonation. this was confirmed with data logging...not just the horrible sound I could hear before but not after. I now keep two cans of torco in the trunk along with my SCT flash tuner.. just in case.
dsmgreddy
I used this stuff on some of my DSM turbo builds and datalogged it. They do work to some degree but as far as utilizing it with a tune you run into some problems. If you were to set your tune to say 11.7 AFR at WOT, then you would always have to add the exact amount of it with the exact amount of fuel everytime. For instance, you have 10 gallons and add one bottle, then you'd always have to add one bottle with 10 gallons of regular gas. Now if you over used it you'd run a bit rich which is no problem, but you forget and you run lean and risk detonation. Although probably not until you hit 12.2-12.5 AFR. Just food for thought. Thats good thanks for the info...just wonder what the oct rating would be in a tank of 91 with a can of Torco..was that tested ?

Yeah know what you mean...if a guy stayed with a full tank to a can of Torco it should be safe I would think.
Duncan4169
Thanks for the info I'm only putting in x-pipe for now but want to go tb jlt intake and tune in the spring
dsmgreddy
If you do an over the air tune id say you'd be fine just because the OTA tunes run rich for safety. If you having a dyno tune just make sure you top off with fuel and use a can...then they can dial it in based off of that.
