1sgt
I was thinking of putting MGP calipers covers on my car . Has anyone used them ??
08KR525
I have not used them personally, but have seen several sets installed. They are a quality part.
1sgt
Do think the brakes get hot ??
08KR525
I would think that they would have no affect on brake performance. Especially on a street car.
Frank S
I've thought about the heat thing with regard to caliper covers. And the paint on the surface of calipers. Seems to me after a certain point the whole arrangement will be radiating at pretty much the same rate. Unless some of the engineers hereabouts can correct me, I think the difference among the radiation rates of rusty iron, painted iron, and painted aluminum is very small, and approaches insignificance even in extreme conditions. On its face, the color of the paint/covers should have an effect, with black doing the best radiating job. You got to figure that from the caliper's point of view every coat of paint (and layer of material of any kind) has two surfaces to reflect heat back into the caliper. No, really. We do need an engineer in here. I remember reading that rusty iron was the best radiator in the era of drum brakes, but disk brakes are a different proposition entirely. Or is that "disc" brakes? Larry T
I have them and they are a great match to the Brembo upgrade.

Blu50Stang
IMO, caliper covers don't look good. I also feel that they would be a potential hindrance in brake performance. Think thermal mass. A larger mass will hold temperature(low or high) for a longer amount of time.
03 DSG Snake
To those who know what they are looking at, they absolutely scream 'fake'. I wouldn't put them on a nice car.

BlueByU
I bought another set of front and rear calipers and had the powder coated RED. The Calipers do look better in RED then Black.

sgt1864
I have the Shelby covers on my car now 2 years, no issues brakes do not run any hotter. Yes they are fake but look good and get lots of good comments about them. Half the stuff on these cars are fake anyway, who cares. Its about looking good and when going down the highway at 80 seeing SHELBY I get a lot of thumbs up. I will try to post a pic of my FAKE caliper covers
