13Shelby
This would be my first new Mustang, well actually my first new ford. I placed an order for a '13 Shelby Coupe with all the options at my local dealer. He said he could fulfill the order. Now, after 3 weeks of waiting for any kind of DORA I put some pressure on him and he says that it turns out they won't be able to place the order until late winter/early spring. So I called another local SVT dealer. Big mistake. I can order it from dealer #2. They will take my deposit and build my car. But when the car comes it goes directly to the showroom floor and international bidding on it begins. I have to be the highest bidder to get the car I have a deposit on! Is this sh!t normal??? I'm really about an inch from cancelling the purchase entirely! Can someone offer any advice? Dealer #1 was under MSRP, and I will not pay dealer #2's $15k ADM. No way in hell! Thanks! Snoopy49
When I ordered my car, the dealer was only allowed to order it as a sold car. They needed to send a copy of my drivers license and a copy of the check I used for the deposit.to Ford as proof that the car was ordered for a legitimate customer and not for stock. It sounds like your new dealer is using you to get a car that he would not normally have access too, Sounds like fraud. I would contact Ford customer service and explain the situation. Did you get a copy of the Vehicle Order Confirmation or the DORA? You will need the Order Number and Dealer Number for customer service.
Snoopy49
I just noticed that you haven't actually ordered the car from dealer 2, but it would still be interesting to see what Ford Customer Service thinks of this deal.

That's not normal. My local dealer started putting ADP's on their GT500's untill they had 4 or 5 customers back out of the deals because they found others at MSRP. My dealer will now *gladly* sell their 2013 GT500's at MSRP (or better if you can get them to). He also told me that their Denver store was selling at MSRP too. Personally I think the cars are so high priced to start with (MSRP) that no one will pay the ADP on top of MSRP. As I've said in many many posts before, the price is all dependant on what the market will bear/bare. And right now, the market is NOT keen to the crazy ADP/M's some dealers are charging. I'd tell dealer #2 to stick that car where the sun don't shine...He's trying to pull a fast one over on you. Phill

BS Racing
Sit back relax and wait for dealer #1 to get you your car. When your new car shows up take it to dealer #2 and when they come out to check it out tell them you will sell it to them for only 10K over MSRP, then laugh at them and give them a smoke show as you drive away. vapor08GT500
Understand that most dealers are opportunists...car salesman, and will usually tell you anything you want to hear!! Hands down, in most cases, CROOKS. I have bought and influenced others to buy over 100 new Fords, and owned and built 1000's, and for the most part the dealers have been somewhat realistic and honest, but now for my last two new Ford deals for myself I feel screwed. The first dealer I will not name as they made good and refunded my money in full, plus an substantial inconvenience fee. They ordered me a 12 Boss at $2K under sticker, and when it came in, they wanted over sticker as they already had another buyer(s) for more. Now, I ordered a 13 Boss Laguna Seca in February from a very well known, high volume dealer, well known on Team Shelby, and still have not got my car in June!! I was emailed a VIN from them and found the car was sold to someone else after putting $30K down to order the car. They have excuse after excuse and like to play buddy buddy and I was promised by the "Inventory Manager" that the "High Performance Vehicle Salesperson" would email me the order to Ford with the date I ordered it. I was assured that besides a person from Shelby (in Feb), I was getting the first Laguna Seca Boss and no other orders were placed as of Feb. A week later that has not happened. It is not like I don't deal in Ford's and don't have access to Ford build and rail shipment info, as well as Ford Oasis info. My lawyer is calling this a slam dunk. I am not going to mention this dealer until they respond, if they do not, I will be happy to let other's know whom to AVOID, and why. With my business in Mustangs, it is imperative to have cars right away (or at least when promised somewhat) as many of my suppliers use my cars for product development and advertising. Many of my cars over the years have been used in various advertising and on display at SEMA over the years. I was promised an very early build, not a car half way through the run. My whole point of this is BEWARE. I feel really stupid being in business for 18 years in Fords and getting screwed myself, believing in what a so called " Mustang Enthusiast" dealership that is well known says and does not follow up on. VaporDude
I would definately go someplace else. The first dealer probably used up his first allocation set and will either wait on the second allocation set or next years allocation. The second dealer is just a plain scum bag trying to make money off you. You should tell him that you get 50 percent of the over MSRP price just for using your order. There has to be other dealers around you that will order you one at either at or below MSRP. I am just glad I was able to stumble on the $100 over invoice deal that I got. Good luck with your search. I totally agree with this. That was my thought too (judging by the delivery date). Phill

Some dealers are doing quite well on the 2012 inventory because of the inherent price differential to 2013. It's like having an entry level trim and priced accordingly.
