selo
In the past there's been some negative press regarding pedal placement in the modern Ford Shelby GT 500s. Did they address this for 2013, along with the other significant modifications and upgrades they've made? If not, are there any tried and true after market pedal sets that address this issue? Do they improve the ability to heel-toe, or look good/feel good, or all of the above? How difficult is installation?
tony356
while the placement is not german, i have no h-t issues with the boss or the 350. remember with a stock flywheel it is difficult to do on the street as your usually not high enough in the rpm's and not braking as hard. i do like the above listed pedals though. I have to disagree a bit about the "around town" comment. I heel-toe all the time in my GTS cab, 528i, and I used to in my old Miata. OTOH, I've owned cars where the pedal set-up wasn't great, like an old 993, and an E36 M3, and in those cars I wasn't able to heel-toe as easily. But I really like doing it all the time so that it remains second nature, and it's a pain to have a car that doesn't have good placement. Do all Mustang variants have the same pedal arrangement, including the 350 andthe Boss?

How difficult is installation? Love the looks and feel. The only time I didn't love 'em was when my soles got wet. They were slippery. Installation is a non-issue. I did have to pull the gas pedal assy. and grind a bunch off of the back to make the accel. pedal work. 3 bolts and a electrical connector and it comes out in your hand. Then I used a coping saw and my bench grinder to cut a notch out of the backside for the bracket that holds the pedal on. I probably could'a glued it but I went with the directions. selo
Good info everyone. Thanks. I attended a Bondurant course in Phoenix last winter, and ..(I hate to say it n this forum) but I loved the pedal placement in the Z06. So easy to heel-toe it made even weak drivers seem good. Why don't all manufacturers make it this easy?

I attended a Bondurant course in Phoenix last winter, and ..(I hate to say it n this forum) but I loved the pedal placement in the Z06. So easy to heel-toe it made even weak drivers seem good. Why don't all manufacturers make it this easy? I thought the Corvettes had a good pedal-to-pedal spacing, but the z-height offset from brake to accel was too high forcing a really bad ankle roll. We used the C51's for the 3-day class, so maybe the Z06 is different, they now use Grand Sports for that class. Basically the same as the Z06 (suspension, etc) but without the dry sump engine. On the other hand, the pedal offset and placement on the Formula Mazdas was perfect. So much easier.... The FGT is pretty close to perfect too. A little more vertical offset than the Mazdas but not as much as the Corvettes, but good horizontal placement.
