Rev Dennis
On my 2007 Shelby GT/SC, which I just recently had upgraded to SC, the oil pressure gauge in the top of dash gauge pod stopped working today. I know this is not a critical piece and can wait until my next mechanics visit, but I am thinking it might be something easy, like a loose fitting or connection. Anyone here that can tell me where to look? Any ideas?
SGT0767
I just had the gauge pod installed on the GT500 last Friday and the oil gauge had problems as well. It was late but we were able to determine that wire from the sending unit to the gauge was bad which Tasca will be replacing that tomorrow. To diagnose this, they ran a wire from the sending unit connection to the gauge itself. You could try that to see what happens. Mike
Rev Dennis
Later on took it out for a run and it is working again. Must be a connection issue. But TASCA is 350 miles from me, so I will let my local guy look at it if necessary. Thanks for the reply.

I was gonna say check for an oil leak before you drive it too far. But if it's intermitent it's probably a connection issue.
Rev Dennis
Oil leak? Crossed my mind. Checked. OK. Suspected electrical from the start. See you at Carlisle Mon.
07SGT4578
the wire connectors are not very good ones, both where the splice connectors are and where the wires plug into the guages. I also had this problem until I rewired everything and soldered it all together.
NordicShelby
My boost gauge stopped working a year ago and my gauge pod flops all over the place. I wish I had not bought gauge pod and gauges.
Rev Dennis
How is the gauge pod attached? Velcro? Can you just lift it up?
07SGT4578
Yes attached by Velcro. Be careful when you lift it. Most I have seen do not have a lot of slack in the wires. (null)
NordicShelby
How is the gauge pod attached? Velcro? Can you just lift it up? yes Velcro but the velcro they used is not very good. My plan is to make a metal bracket and pop rivet it to the pod and then put velcro on the under side of the bracket then replace the old velcro with much stronger Velcro on the dash. Elgin Black
I have started having erratic readings on my pods oil pressure gauge. It has always indicated what I thouht was high compared to the instrument panel gauge. Now when I turn on the ignition the gauge jumps to about 25 psi or so before The engine is started then pegged all the way past 100 psi and after running for a bit dropped back down where it usually runs. I am suspecting the sending unit or a loose connection. Talked to SPP and they thought it was the gauge. I just don't think the gauge fixes its self after running for awhile.
