Recommended Posts

apparently approached GM first and GM stated it would be competition for the Corvette and did not want to do it. The proverbial light bulb went off in ole Shel's head and he told Ford have I got a deal for you. You have wanted to have competition for the Corvette for years but couldn't afford the R&D. I will do it for you. Ford recognized the instant cost savings and advantages and the rest is history. And as ole Shel said even an average race driver in a Cobra could blow the best Corvette drivers in to the weeds.
