Question about mustangs

I was checking out the tech from fords other cars. Any ideas on why they didn't throw those in there with the mustangs? For example the taurus has torque vectoring, blind spot dection, keyless entry, push button start, etc....

Most other expensive performance cars in the shelby price range has all these features. Makes me wonder why they didn't throw these things on the shelby or make it optional on other mustangs when they had the tech there for it.

Any ideas?

Speaking strickly of the GT500, which is the highest priced Mustang until just recently, If history has anything to do with it, it's a Shelby, because, well, it's a Shelby. He never went for bling or high tech, just one thing was important to him, performance.

My early 07 came with an alarm, electric windows, locks and trunk. and that's it. I couldn't even get a Shaker 1000 at the time, much less Nav or anything else. Oh yeah, it has cruise. :-)

I would love a key-prox push to start, but I'm fine with my 615 horses. The CTSv that has all that, that I spanked (not hard...that is one fast car) is a nice ride and very comfortable, but I'll dance with the one that brung me, if you get my drift.

I don't know about a lot of the new GT500 owners, but I bet if you polled all the guys that have been around since 06 or so, they'd probably all say the same thing. For me, over 50% of the decision to put a deposit on a car that I hadn't even seen, never test drove, had never been on the street was the fact that a Texan that kicked Ferrari's ass once upon a time, put his name and part of him in the car, and that was perfectly good enough for me. I can honestly say, that if for whatever reason Ford built that car and it wasn't a Shelby, and he didn't have his hand in it, I may not have bought it.

My wife has an 08 Edge and loves it, but we are looking at a '13 AWD Fusion, and the options are unreal on what you can get. And it's still about 10k under some of the imports that we have looked at.

just my thoughts on it.

My Mom purchased a new (2008) Nissan Altama (she passed on 2009) and it came with a cool Key Fob that as long as it was with you (in your Pocket or Purse) you could Lock & unlock the Car Doors just by pushing a small button on the Drivers Door Handle and Push a Button on the Dash to start the Car. You never had to put a Key in the ignition. My sister has the Car now. Several Aftermarket Companies offer a Push Button Start option that fits in place of the Charging Plug on the Dash.

Well said! (But, I'd love to have the automatic lights like my F-150 has!)
