mudduc
So i been thinkin about sending the GT500 out to Vegas to make a Man of it and I'm watchin vids on youtube and such tryin to get an idea of what to expect when i get it back. One of the biggest disapointments i have with the GT500 is the brakes and i see the Baer setup on the SS and think those are some bad ass lookin brakes. I call out there to get some more info on the transformation and the guy i talk to "Jeremy Roberts" tells me that Shelby dont sell Baer brakes on the ss no more. They put Wilwood Brakes on them now. I ask him what happen and hes not real clear on why they dont sell the Baer any more. He just starts tellin me about how good the Wilwoods are. Well I went on the Wilwood site and checked them out and they dont look as Bad Ass as the Baer brakes and they dont come in all the differant colors and I really liked the orange ones they put on the black SS. I have a black GT500. Can anyone tell me what the deal is with the Baer brakes?? Why would they quit useing them?? They look like a better quality setup compared to the Wilwoods. If I'm gonna drop another 40 G's on my car I would hope to get my moneys worth.
EL SHELBY
I cannot speak to the specific Wilwoods now being used on the SS, but the Wilwood brand is just as good if not better than Baer. Willwood has a long racing history. The Baers are still available just not apart of the package. You can always change out the Wilwoods for the Baers and should have no problem covering the cost by selling the Shelby Wilwoods which are only available with one of the post title packages.
