New leftover '11 GT500........price?

Recommended Posts

Tried a search for it but couldn't come up with anything Local dealer has a brand new '11 on the showroom floor .......silver w/ red stripes, svtpp, elec. pkg, striped seats, msrp of $55,400-ish......I saw that the '12's have the $2500 incentive going but the dealer told me there was nothing on the '11 and lowest they would go was X-plan and they showed me the invoice, $50k for x-plan. I thought for sure they'd want to get that '11 out of there. Has anyone bought a leftover '11 like this or similar? Do you think they really can go lower ? Thanks for any help! Now I need to go introduce myself, lol.

50 is to much. Bought a 2012 $59,???.00 sticker. I paid $52 out the door. 6% sales tax here. So that put it right in the upper $48,000.00 range.

tell him you want it for $2,500 under invoice or you'll go get a '12 leftover. He can either keep it till it becomes a "collector's item", or take a small "loss" & sell it to a serious buyer(you). It's certainly not getting "more valuable" sitting on his lot collecting dust.......

His invoice is less than that, probably around $45-46. Write Jeff Greenly at Yokum ford in landsdale. Tell him Eric Crissman told you to write and ask a favor. If you have the vin give it to him and ask him what a good price is for it. Or tell him which dealer has it.

This link has jeffs info (he started the thread) it is about the 2012 but it will give you some pricing info and another means of contacting Jeff....

Hope this helps, let us know!

SOCOMech,

Welcome to Team Shelby! You'll find lot's of help here from a bunch of knowledgable enthusiasts.

I would take a pass on this 2011 and find a 2012 for a deal similar to Ecrissman's noted above. You'll have some significant depreciation on the 2011 as soon as you leave the dealers lot.

Sounds like my dealer. A couple of years ago I made a pass on an '09 that had been gathering dust for 18 months but they wouldn't budge off sticker and acted like they were doing me a favor not asking for more. I am glad they didn't make me a deal now. I bought a black 12 svt that listed for 55,570 for 52 even. Absolutely love the car.

Got my '12 for $49.5 back in December. Same options. No way he's going to get $50K for a 2011, except from one of those people born every minute. Tell him you'll pay him SIXTY THOUSAND for it - if he sends it off to be SuperSnaked first. :hysterical:

Yeah the deals going on the '12's are really nice. Thing is is that I'm trading my Raptor in on it (which I don't owe anything on) and the closest '12 to me is in Nevada, so keeping it local is really helpful. The combo of this car is drool city too. I just figured if the '12's are going for what they are, then this '11 would be the same or better. I hear ya about the depreciation though. My original intenetions were to get a '13 Boss but then I saw this car and fell in love with it, we'll see. Thanks again for the help guys

January 2012, I was patiently waiting on a 13 Boss too (I also have a 70 Boss) but due to events ended up buying a Black stripe delete Shelby and no regrets. Still like to get a matching Black Boss LS but for now I'm hooked on the whine of that blower and 100 more HP than the Boss. Plus it's hard to beat the black leather Recaros too. Can't believe they didn't offer leather as an option on the Boss...

If you are that in love with it buy it! Personally i have bought things that didnt make the most sense but once I had to have it ... it didnt matter. Our suggestions are from people that dont have that attachment to it.. we haven't even seen it or know how it is optioned. You can always earn more money, if its what you really want and your not just in the high of the buy. Hopefully next week you won't regret not traveling for a 12. For me I would and did travel for the exact car I wanted. Your lucky if you found yours in your back yard. Post up some pictures!!!

Agree with Ecrissman. I bought my vert in Maryland which was a 7hr drive. At the time there were only a couple Grabber Blue verts for sale when I looked online. Oddly, the other one which was at Fast Lane Classics is on eBay right now for $64k at another dealer. I know it's the same car by the vin. There were no dealers in my state or nearby that would let me order one for less than msrp at the time. I bought mine at Apple Ford for invoice plus $500. Very happy with the purchase and sales team at Apple Ford compared with the BS I had to deal with at my local RI dealers.

So I spoke to Jeff the other day, great guy and incredibly informative and helpful. He says the vehicle has been on their lot for ........571 days! WTF?! Is it haunted or something? Anyway, after Jeff telling me all I need to know, I'll take my truck, which will be back to stock and trade in ready, with title in hand and cash in pocket and offer them $45k for it. If not, then off I go.

SOCOMech,

Judging from your screen name, SOCOMech (Southern Colorado Mechanic?) and the fact that you're listed as being in he Mountain Region, I assume you are likely in my area (Co. Springs) and you're probably a Auto Tech. I'm a (early) retired Tech out of Calif. recently transplanted to CoS. I figure you're either here or in Pueblo...Denver maybe (not that *I* consider Denver *Southern* CO)?

Couple of questions;

What dealer are you working with on the '11 from? I know Phil Long Motor City has a White w/red GT500 SVTPP on their showroom floor but I thought it was a '12. I know they have a couple of used GT5's out front too but I can't think of a '11 in there. They had a Red '12 GT5 on the floor with Recarro's but I can't remember if it was a SVTPP or Base. It is/was a stripe delete car but came sans the Nav and was ordered with Nav so the buyer backed out.

I bought my 2010 GT500 Kona Blue w/white coupe from them and got treated pretty well at the time. If you were at the Mustang meet @ Phil Longs a couple of weeks back, mine was the one by the door, up top.

I also noticed you're trading a Raptor in on the Shelby. I just bought a new 2012 Race Red Raptor SuperCab (also from Phil Long/Motor City) and I was wondering what you think of the Raptors. I'm LOST with it, never been a *real* 'wheeler' before but I did have a '67 Chevy shortbed fleetside I did a bunch of work to and took off road a couple of times.

Hit me with a Personal Message (PM) if you wanna chat or need help with the dealer.

I knew he would steer you in the right direction. Good luck if they wont make the deal. Look else where. If you buy off Jeff i know you will save enough for the flight and to have the car transported home. He speaks my language turn and burn. No one even came close to his price and he works on volume. So you get the best price, he makes a couple bucks ( which is fair) everyone is happy. I saved enough i paid for the flight, drove mine home and still had thousands left. If your dealers wont make a deal give him you laundry list of must have and have him find it for you. A flight to philly isnt that big of a deal.

Actually I'm in Phoenix. My screen name has to do with the fact that I spent 3 years in Iraq as a contractor working on the "SOCOM" project (special operations command, i.e. Special Forces), I was a mechanic attached to an SF team so...... SOCOMech, the "M" pulling double duty there. I've been asked about being from Colorado before though, lol. I was a tech at a Ford dealer before that and now work as a heavy mechanic for the City of Phoenix. As for the Raptor, congrats! You'll absolutely love it even if you don't use it to it's potential. An unbelievably remarkable and capable truck but as with any machine, it has it's limits.....just use common sense and start slowly, working your speed and such up. For being over 6k lbs, it's crazy how "light on it's feet" and manueverable it is. If you get a chance, swing by fordraptor.com, I'm a moderator in the tech section over there.....lots of useful info and great members.

I joined that forum right away. I've been on a couple of weeks now. My computer doesn't seem to like it, or the SVTperformance.com site so I lightly browse them.

Thanks,

We worked with Heritage Ford at Loveland when we got our 12. For being over 500 miles away and never laying eyes on us they were incredible. We made the deal and they met us halfway with the car to do the trade at Lusk WY. We have purchased lots of vehicles over the years and I have to say we were very happy with the whole experience. In fact we are considering having them work up a deal on a 13 for us=will have to see how the harvest is in the fall first!

Where abouts in SD are you located? A very good friend of mine's son just signed with SD State on a Basketball scholorship and I was wondering if you were close to the school.

These guys are likely a bunch of inflexible, arrogant, monkeys marketing a "new" 2011 with 2013s on the way. They can bag the sticker price on that car. offer them 40 grand and work up. No way they get more than 45K if they are lucky. Let them eat it.

Depending how anal you are. If the car sat outside at a dealers for 500+ days. I would imagine that paint is rough. I highly doubt it was properly washed, dried, or protected in anyway. That being said it more than likely is scratched and has water and bird dropping etching in the clean coat. I don't I would really go over that car to see if its worth talking numbers.

On a side note dealers usually hold pretty firm on these numbers because it's an emotional purchase. No body NEEDS a car like this, you want it.. and they know it.

Let them "hold firm" like they did with the KRs and sell them for 30 thousand less than sticker a few years later!

$55K (plus 13% tax) up here in Canada still on a 2011 no Nav or SVTPP! Ummm no, you can let it sit on the lot for another 2 years!! I can't wait to see my salesman's eyes when I roll up in one I picked up for low 40's with the PP and Nav with only 2100 miles.

the dealer with the 11 is out of his mind if he thinks that car is worth 50k. ANY Ford dealer can pull the invoice for you if they have the VIN. I would offer him 3500.00 under invoice and tell him he is losing more money every day he lets it sit. People are buying leftover 12's for wayyyyy less than 50k. (including me) :)

Just thought I'd update the thread to say that car got sold a couple of days after I looked at it, wish I knew for how much. Soooo, I've moved on and found a used mint '10 GB/Wht stripe car with only 3500 mi. at another dealer. Only has HID's, Elec. pkg and car cover and they're asking 44k, so I'm taking the Raptor by there later this week, see if I can't get it for 41k-42k.....sound good? I've been doing as much research as I can on my own so thanks for any other input you guys can offer as I'm new to the Shelby scene.

Actually...From what I've seen? That might be too much. Check out some of the FS ads right here on Team Shelby (in the Classified section) and see how guys are *trying* to sell 10's for high 30's ($38K, $39K).

You're asking for "forum" advice on pricing, but I'm not sure if everyone understands your situation. When you have to move/trade your old vehicle(raptor), you usually "have to" deal with a dealer, which means paying retail(or close to it). If you "low-ball" them on their car, they'll do the same to you on the trade. The only way to handle this is exactly what you're doing, shop for dealers who really "need" to move the shelby & work on getting the best "net" price. Maybe try to look for a dealer who "likes trucks" & is kinda "stuck" with a traded-in Shelby. I once found a gorgeous used Z06 at a CAT/Tractor equipment dealer & he was very "motivated". G/L!!!
