Does anybody have a picture of....

I was looking through the clearance stuff and saw the Shelby GT Lower Grille, Black ( Product Code: S6MB-8200-D) but there is no picture with the item. Is it the same as the brushed aluminum one only black? I know someone who may want one but I don't want to buy it sight unseen.

Thanks for any help.

Doug,

I have one installed as well - about the first mod I ever did probably 3+ years ago...it still looks like new (about 13,000 miles later since installed). I have it on Vista Blue 08, so let me know if you need more pics, and I can upload.

Andy.

Ok, I had to register to see the pictures. I ordered the lower grill thinking I would come out of this at $50. I and was sent the upper, now what, I have to spend another $50 for the lower and $110 for the surround. Oh, almost forgot the $28 for the emblem! Thanks for getting me started Doug!

Interesting first post. You ordered a grill from a posted pic? Did you ask any questions when you ordered it?

Doug is a great guy, been here a long time. Did you have a question or just came here to bash someone? Flame away.

No, I work with Doug and he showed me the link with all of the clearance items. Funny enough I had already ordered a strut brace from Blue Oval and it was enroute but when I saw the Shelby Strut Brace for $99 and then the black lower grill I jumped on it. I just recieved the package on Tuesday and installed the strut brace but when I unpackaged the grill, it was very evident that it was not the lower grill but the upper. I have been on the fence losing the fog lights and going with Shelby upper grill but thought I would start with the lower. Now that I have the upper I might as well finish it off, that's why I joke with Doug I intended on spending $50 until I saw all of the other goodies.

Spend some more and get the Shelby brake duct cooling bezels/piaa light combo. Then your getting the grill all done and still have the fog lights. Best of both worlds. And I think they lowered the cost of the Bezels from $149 down to $49, another great deal.

Oh boy, worse than I thought. I just realized the surrounds are very hard to come by unless you guys have a secret source. I contemplated butchering the grill until I read about all of the warping issues. I just bought Late Model Restorations last upper grill kit and lower grill. The only down side is that they are the polished and not black, not sure how the polished look will be on dark candy but I suppose there is the option to powder coat.

i already have the chrome upper and lower inplace. and due to a recent bump to the nose i lost my " original grill" set up with the honycomb backing still in place and the dealership replaced it with the 08 version which is see through and imho not nearly as good looking.

so i am more than likley going to order these as i already have the frame work in place and if i do ill post pics of the b4 and after installs

i also want the duct kit and lights but, that another 400 bucks or so..unless you all know something ( else ) i dont :)

Finished up yesterday, my Shelby lower grill upgrade suffered from severe scope change. I ended up with not only the lower grill but the upper with surround as well. I scoured the internet in search for an 08 grill and surround as well as the lower grill and bought the last one Latemodelrestorations had. Only problem was that it was the polished version and I wanted black. I sent it out and had it powder coated again. I also ordered a set of brake / duct bezels and the PIAA 510 XT lights and I was able to pick up the Shelby strut tower brace for $99, what a deal. While I had the front apart, I relocated the horns behind the bumper, and gave the JV paint behind the grill a shot of flat black.

Thanks again Doug, and it took how long for you finally give me a ride in that supercharged beast, nice car Doug.
