judgeman6970
FYI.....'07-'09 GT500 value may be better than some people would have you think. This week at Manheim(large northeast dealer auction), a black GT500 with nav & 2k miles on the clock went for $35,000. Not bad considering this is a "wholesale" price.... :burnout:

Not bad considering this is a "wholesale" price.... :burnout: What year was the car? Yeah, that's high, but still under what might be retail for a 2009, on the other hand the bidder could have been buying it for themselves or someone specifically and just wanted the car...who knows! It's all about matching the car to a buyer that WANTS THAT CAR. When you find that prices go up!

The person bought it for at let's say at least $55K...that means they paid $10 per mile driven, not counting interest if they financed it. What a shame! REVENGE
Well Shelby will continue their relationship with Ford past 2015. That means you will have next gen GT500s that will be lighter and more powerful than the 2013. These cars will will be so far ahead of the 07-09 it won't be funny. This will cause the prices to continue to drop. Imagine a 700hp 3500lb GT500.

If the "next generation" is seen to be ugly, too expensive, or just doesn't perform as expected (there's lots of fast competition), the '07-'09 may still be the one people want... Dust off your crystal ball.. Oh I am sure the desperate 07-09 owners will continue to clutch at straws and find something on the next generation cars to attack. Maybe it will be the dash board or rear view mirror or something minor. They will find something about the new car to latch onto to explain why the older and now totally outclassed car is better. Point is their desperation would not stop the depreciation of the older cars. Ford is going to do a spectacular job on the new GT500 I sure but I am sure some of the owners of the older.cars will never give them credit. Hmm.. I think that most of us with the '07-'09 cars wouldn't consider ouselves "desperate", but rather, fortunate. Nothing stopping us from aquiring the newer (or older) Mustangs as well. REVENGE
Its not trolling. I am just using what certain 07-09 owners did in the past to predict what they will do when the new cars get here. Trust me they will find something on the new car to call ugly.

Classic musclecars are generally heavier, slower & technologically inferior to most "new-muscle", but they still seem to be holding their value. Personally I like all the late-model Shelbys, but IMO, the '07-'09 cars have the best combination of retro & modern looks, and also were the "first".....so who knows???? Anything said about the early 500s that is not blindly positive is met with verbal brutality from the usual gang of 10.The 1st generation and KR owners are laughably thin skinned on here. Their chosen vehicles are quite nice but clearly dated and yesterdays news. The '13s are the sheeet now whether owners of previous generations like it or not. You are correct, they will find something along the lines of a cup holder or a trim piece to complain about and validate their dated version. Its OK, just a form of denial. I'm content with my '08 Bullitt and '09 KR, thanks. Not drooling over the newer models, though the 2013 Boss and GT500 are pretty cool. I just don't need 'em, and would never consider swapping for them. Nothing wrong with a difference in opinion, but stating that the '07-'09 owners are "clutching at straws" and looking for "something to attack" on the newer cars...sure smells like trolling. Anyway, enjoy whichever car you choose; I don't care what you're driving. BTW - Yesterday's news is what becomes tomorrow's classic. Same as it ever was. REVENGE
Time will tell. I just made a prediction. Btw once the GT500 comes out in the new body style a it will have a negative impact on the previous models prices. You will start to find good examples in the 20K range. Correct, the 2013 with its wide range of upgrades and improvements will not be kind to previous years resale values. '07-'09s now bring 20s on trade and will very soon see their retail #s in that same range. Look to see the early models resale prices stabilize in the 20s befor their next move southward. They are great cars for that money but have some very significant short commings, archaic heavy iron block, absence of knock sensors, cheesy interior, grossly inadequate rear suspension, hideous stock wheels, etc. The price future for these cars including the KR is down for the forseeable future. GT500 production #s now well into the tens of thousands has eliminated any real possibility of these cars being investments, there will allways be a ton of these cars available on the used market. Anyone looking for a car purchase that may have a chance of some appreciation after 20 or 30 years of depreciation might consider a Boss 302. These cars are cool as heck, far less common, and really a far better overall performer than the pre '13 GT500s.
gt67
Owning a 07-09 is like a good bottle of wine, gets better with age over time. As far as garage queens or museum cars go, they are like a Picasso, you just stare, admire and wish you had one. The value of these cars depends on what model you have and how much TLC it gets. Here is one example from a collector: http://www.barrett-j...7&aid=443&pop=

Enjoy it now as you are fortunate to have it. If by some chance the value goes up before you go horizontal you will have had rare chance to enjoy the best of both worlds. kincobra
I am over joyed to have my 2007 GT500, it will always be the next of Kin Shelby in Carrol's time since 1970. It will never happen again that a whole new generation of Shelbys will come around while Shelby has his input, he is getting very old. I am keeping my 2007 and i do not care how much more power the new ones will have as they will never be the first generation of there time. Also the 2007 GT500 is an historical car as it brought back the muscle car wars, if this car was not introduced would the Challenger or Fugly Camaro be around?? Just my 2 cents.
