2+2
I am not so sure it is even a real California Special. I have never seen a C/S without the two tone seats. Unless the two tone is not showing up right in the pictures. Hey maybe it is a Shelby GT, debadged/destriped that was turned into a California Special clone. 08SGT/SC
They probably mean it came with the gt upfitters package, which the shelby gt came with prior to being sent to las vegas for the conversion.
Elgin Black
The first C/S I saw had two tone interior. It was the first year the new C/S's came out(2007). They also show the two tone in the "Complete Book Of Mustang".
shelbymotorsports
VIN number, 1zvht85h885144057, does belong to a California Special. Its the sellers claim that this California Special came with the Shelby GT package is where his sales fluffery gets out of hand. Steve
2+2
Really, I have seen many 2007-2009 California Specials and this cars interior is odd. It has the two tone interior door panels, ect, but I have never seen one from the factory without the two tone seats. Just an observation. I would sure research it if I was buying it. AndyGJ
I looked at a 2008 GT/CS before I found out about the SGT, and they are supposed to come with a two tone interior as part of the package...not sure if it was an option, but thought it was standard. I'll see if I can find my 2008 Ford Mustang product guide later to see if that is part of the base package or an option. Also, those tail pipe extensions from the axle back stock mufflers look a lot smaller than what is on our SGTs, not to mention the other upgrades that we all know about underneath! ilmor
Apparently when the factory allegedly installed the "Shelby GT Package" on this car they neglected to install the lower springs.
08ragtop
I bought a 2008 California Special in 2008. The two tone interior was part of the California Special package. That's why I wanted one. The only choices were which two colors, there was no option of a single color California Special interior. I was amazed at how many people thought the CS on the side stripe meant it was a Shelby. I got tired of telling people it was NOT a Shelby, so I traded it in on a GT500. Glenn Greenwell
Maybe one of the moderators remembers a post on a dealer that got a Ford GT with the upfitters package that did not go to Shelby and there was a little bit of "back and forth" over the mistake. It was not a GT/CS. GG

The very nice GT/CS in the drag race staging lanes at Terlingua International Airport, september 2008; lunch preparations can be seen above. I told Mr Shelby the sales guy said the "CS" was for "Carroll Shelby". Mr Shelby said "Or Chicken Sh*t". I said "That's what I was afraid of. I better take it back". Then he asked what it really stood for. Gary Patterson told him, and I missed the next comments.
07SGT
since this is offered by a dealership I have to wonder if the dealer failed to properly investigate and paid the seller as though this was a Shelby.
1965coupe
Interestingly, I saw this car on eBay while finding a convertible for my dad. As soon as I saw your title, I knew what to expect. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649&item=260986073276&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_24912wt_1165 Regardless, I did end up finding this car north of LA; it didn't come with the Shelby package, though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649&item=110858239092&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT#ht_6681wt_1165
