I'm amazed at the list of mods some of you have. Got me thinking about how much money we have in our cars. I bought one of the early ones, so with tax I was out the door for $44,000.

Add in about $16,000 (Whipple to wheels etc.) and my new "sticker" is $60,000.00. Not complaining...just amazed at how it adds up. What's your number?

I bought mine used with 6k miles for a bargain IMO... Including all mods, oil changes and the fresh set of rear tires I just bought as spares.... total spent over the years is right at $36.5K. I feel pretty good about the bang for the buck on this one.

Regarding "bang for the buck" - I have 12,000 miles on the car. With the $60,000 in it, I'm averaging $5.00 per mile excluding fuel.

I bought mine used last year i was lucky enough the guy that used to own it saved all paper work he gave full price orderd it in september of 2007 gave over 51.000 :waiting: He got the car in feburary 2008.Then in august of 2008 he put on roush m-90 blower and carroll shelby AR torq-thrust 20s .Then late 2010 traded it in on a GT 500 .Glad he did but i think it would have been cheaper just to buy 2008 GT 500 IMO :) :eek5:

Don't hate me. But I bought my 07 SGT new for invoice. In the beginning they wanted about 10K over MSRP, then 5 K over, then 3, then 2.5, then eventually MSRP. I held out till August 2007 and bought it a thousand miles away, all arranged by emails, for invoice. Bought a 99.00 one way air ticket and enjoyed the drive home. Thousand mile drive home and changed the oil. Car only has 7.3 + K miles now and will probably only have 7.5 K by August of this year for an average of 1,500 miles per year.

Bought mine new at MSRP in 2007, about $38K. I added the CS6 Hood, gauge pod, lower grill & driving lights installed at SAI for about another $3K. Since then I've added many things - wheels, brakes, engine goodies, Shelby interior, lots of billet aluminum interior and exterior accessories totalling maybe another $10K. So non-supercharged I'm probably into mine for $52K - $54K. It adds up!

I am the second owner of mine. Original owner paid $5K ADM which brought the total to almost $45K. I paid $28K with less than 5k miles on it. Did the SC upgrade = $13K, Baer Extremes up front = $3300 installed and new 18 x 9.5 wheels to fit the big front brakes = $1000 + $1100 for the bigger tires.

I have more sitting here than I would in a GT500, but I am familiar with both and the GT/SC is a better car for me. I am a road racer, not a drag racer.

This car is my favorite toy EVER!

I did get the car for X-Plan and also got 0% for 60 months so that is significant savings as well. I think X-Plan was $37K or so, I would have to look.

As far as mods added after I do not want to count, but I am pretty sure I meet your $60K even with the low entry price. Might add the Interior Package next, thats another $2k roughly. I know at this point every dollar I sink will add Zero resale value unless I find the absolute right buyer, but I can care less, you only live once and I do not plan to sell.

This is the first car I have owned almost 5 years and I still love it just as much or more than the day I bought it and I have owned a lot of cars.

Great thread.

let's see....27K as the second owner with 8,200 on the odometer. About 200.00 in mods with more to come later. I am definately seeing the numbers ring up so fingers crossed for a good post-retirement job so I can work some nice mods.
