Installed new AM SHELBY Razors, 20X9/20X10

Pretty new member here but I'm excited about my new wheels. Wish I knew how to post pictures; can email them to someone if they were interested in showing these for me. I have a triple black 07 convertible, Evolution stage 2 stuff, with the Eibach springs. Bought the razors a few months back and waited for a deal on tires. I know everyone knows what the razors look like but the re-issue wheels have a slightly different offset etc. I started by buying one front wheel (20X9) and thoroughly clarifying with AM (American Muscle) my intent to test fit them without mounting tires to check for brake clearance. They sold me a cheap cast type 8mm spacer but the wheels DO fit without. Clearance is extremely close and probably too close to account for production tolerances etc. I found a precision machine shop that makes hubcentric spacers/adapters etc. who machined me a hubcentric 3mm spacer, $60 pr plus shipping. I went with Yoko S drive tires 255/35 & 275/35 primarily because of the deal I got and they were the factory supplied size for the 40th Anniversary cars which is the eventual look I'm after. Please contact me if anyone has any questions about fitment. I can be reached at 903-262-4054, not online too much.

Thanks and Happy Easter,

Dave Mc

best bet to post pictures is to create an account on photobucket or flick. Upload on their site then copy the img file code which would look like [ img]...............[/ img] copy and paste to the reply section then boooom u have a picture to share everyone.

Also with the Razors from AM, do they say Shelby on them or AMericanMuscle? i know they have their own style of wheels with AmericanMuscle on the center caps

Thanks for the directions, will probably wait till the boss aka wife gets home and she can do it. I am at a pre-K level of IT knowledge.

The AM wheels are an American Racing reissue, they are shipped in AR boxes, the spokes say SHELBY, and the centers are exact as the original run (Shelby American Racing Special Edition). The offsets are slightly different and offer a 20X10 which the originals did not. Only available in chrome or anthracite; their website states they are intended for 2005-10 V6 or GT Mustangs because of the caliper issues. Have a good night...

The AM Razors do say Shelby on the spokes and have the Shelby centre caps - I have a set, boxed, in my basement (20x9 with the 30mm offset). I bought them after giving up on the idea of finding a set with the 24mm offset that my originals have (since found three 24mm offset rims to add to the one spare I had bought in 2010 so finally have my complete spare set).

The AM rims arrived in the same American Racing boxes that my original rims came in so I do wonder about the origin of the rims - are they produced by AR or an alternative maker for AM?

I'm now in two minds as to whether to keep the 30mm set as a back up set up of spares and use a spacer, or keep them for eventual use on the inevitable S197 coupe that will eventually (re)join my stable, or see if they fit my '08 Escape, or just sell them on.

i was just wondering about them, i have a friend that works for AM, and he bought Bullitt wheels for his 2000 GT, and his center cap said AmericanMuscle so didnt know if it was like like for all of their wheels

maybe i should get him to bug them to make Alcoa style wheel haha
