fourplay...
http://www.carrollsh...atte-black.html http://www.carrollsh...atte-black.html I am looking at ordering the new CS1 wheel by Carroll Shelby Wheels in Matte black 20x9 front with 20x11 rears. Does anyone have a similar set up? Just wondering what the best tire size would be. I am hoping to squeeze in some 305's in the rear. My car is a 2011 GT500 Track Pack Coupe. Any advice/tips/help is greatly appreciated! CV
IA Shelby
305 will work. 315 can rub depending on the offset. I have seen a couple of cs1 owners run 295 as well. Great looking wheels. Only downside is they are heavier than stock.
VonGreenland
I have these exact wheels. I am using 255/35 and 295/35 Nitto Invos. You can easily do 305's and I wish thats what I would have bought. It is correct that these wheels are heavier than the stock wheels. 19" SVT wheels w/F1 tires weighed approx 62 pounds each. The 20x11 CS1's with the 295/35 Nitto tire weighed in at 72 pounds. I didn't weight the 20x9's but I would imagine they are maybe a couple pounds lighter than the rears. Despite the weight gain I am extremely happy with the wheels.... Black wheels sure are a pain in the ass to keep clean though!!
IA Shelby
Agree on keeping black wheels clean is a full time job. I finally tried Meguairs wheel protectant spray based on a recommendation. It is supposed to keep brake dust off. I was very careful not to get any overspray on the paint or tires. I haven't taken them out yet but I will report back as to the success. Mine are textured powedercoat matte black so you can imagine what a PITA they are to keep clean. I hope this stuff works as advertised. I also have c-max ceramic brake pads. I am not sure they have worked as well as everyone said they would as far as keeping brake dust off the wheels but they are better than stock. IA Shelby
Where are you looking at getting the CS1s? best pricing is from RT Tire on ebay.
NMAv
Yes, going to start with the rears 20 x 11 to see how they hook up with a good set of wide nittos, then if I like that combo, then I will get teh front. Tolyed with teh wheel widening but the cost is way over the top. RT Tire's website is cheaper than the ebay auction ....
