Will Pay $60,000.00 For a Red KR With Nav

Recommended Posts

Frank,

That was a very smart ad that you posted. You obviously want this color combo of KR and are apparently limited by 2009 vehicles to import to Canada.

If someone wants to sell their KR in this color combo, this is a very enticing price for them. If there is anyone out there that wants/needs to sell their KR, I think your price will attract them.

One question that you might want to clarify in your original post, is this up to 60k in Canadian dollars or USD?

Best of luck on your hunt!

This is indeed a very good offer that should attract sellers. I personnally think that you should be able to pay a bit less considering prices currently advertised on sites such as Ebay, cars.com or autotrader.com, which are often in the mid 50s or less. Having said that, if you really want that color combo with Nav and find one, go for it! I wish you the best of luck!

Eric

P.S. To answer Steve's question, Canadian dollar and USD are essentially trading at par these days which is good for Canadians, since US MSRP is often much lower than Canadian MSRP, which ultimately reflect on the used car market also.

Hi Eric,

I hear ya!

But....there's always a but.....we aren't talking about buying a can of coke.

Closing price today was 1 USD = .9599 Canadian dollar. I agree. Essentially the same....when buying a coke.

But multiply 60,000 USD x .9599 = 57,594 Canadian dollars

Or, 60,000 Canadian dollars x 1.0418 = 62,506.51 USD

Big difference with big numbers!

Hi Steve,

Totally agree with you if conversion rate is at .95 or .96. However, unless the site I usually use for currency conversion is wrong, CAD is currently marginally higher than USD (less than two tenths of a cent), which is why I mentioned that it was essentially trading at par.

Also checked on Ebay Canada where a few US KRs are for sale; Ebay converts the US price in CAD and seem to come up with a similar result. The difference on a $53K car is currently less than $50. Buys you several cans of Coke but still not that significant in my opinion.

Thinking more about the iPhone currency calculator...it's only as good as when I got my last update. Which looks like has been a while. I looked at some of the other countries that I fly into and yes, they are all off as the dollar keeps plummeting.

I remember flying into Canada years ago. The exchange was 1/1.25 back then! No worries....Obama will just print more money! Grrrrr.....another topic for another day.

That 60k price is very attractive for a seller in today's market. Not surprised you got a hit on it. Best of luck and enjoy your new toy if it happens!

If you get the KR, you will love it. I've had mine almost three years now and still love it. I know this will create some criticism, but I wouldn't sell mine for 60K, I like it too much :wub2:
