TexasShelby
I am running the 6923-07 RXT on my '07 GT500. I added the 463458 flywheel assy. I purchased mine from Lethal Performance. I would guess if you were looking at Summit and it showed it wasn't for the GT500 is because you need a McLeod flywheel to go with it. In all honesty, my 07 after going through 2 clutches in 27000 miles (as well as getting a brand new tranny at 13000) and it not a "race car". It wasn't as much the clutch that was at fault as it was an inferior flywheel as well. The Ford flywheel would flex back during acceleration and engage the clutch...thus burning it up. I have about 3K on my Mcleod setup and other than a little noise, the setup is working great. Not trying to tell you your business, but when I purchased mine (and I consider that a major purchase), I went with Lethal Performance. I don't know if Summit is any cheaper, but I do know that if anything at all is wrong, Lethal will stand behind their sale, and will be there if you need them. I can't really say that about Summit, although I do use them for small purchases on both vehicles. Whoever you use, do yourself a favor...follow the clutch break in period as published....if you can't get it from Summit on their site or a phone call, then like I said, Lethal would be worth the money. Hope this helps.

2007_Shelby_GT
By all means, get the matching flywheel! I have the McLeod RST - nice and smooth, light clutch feel. No issues after approximately 4k miles. Sam

I actually spoke directly with McCleod to verify part numbers - I would suggest the same to you to avoid problems! Sam

E.Marquez
If your set on that brand, Lethal is likely the best place..for the clutch and flywheel you need.. dont forget a new CSC (slave cylinder) and pilot bearing.. Best prices hands down anywhere is at Tousley Ford. Go join SVT forums,, find the lethal vendor thread.. PM John at leathal,, for the best price on that clutch. Then PM Mike R, or Steve at Tousley Ford.(in the SVT Tousley vendor thread ).. and tell um you need the slave cylinder and pilot bearing. M-7600-A $7.43 Pilot Bearing. 4R3Z-7A508-AA $172.47 Clutch slave cylinder I have been researching parts and such for my build for days.. checked with every vendor out there... OEM or SVT parts, Tousley is the place.. Van at Revan Racing as just great, John at lethal was very helpful as well, just was not able to get me all the parts, at the same prices, even with some great offers. Tousley Ford shipped free on all my SVT parts due to the large order, and the 2 OEM slave cylinders were just $10 shipped... that makes them $177.47 each for the slave.. NO ONE has the OEM part that cheap. If you intereested in a different route for the clutch look at the SPEC Super Twin, and contact Van at Revan Racing. TexasShelby
I agree completely with everything above....visit the the site, call and even call McLeod to make sure this is right for your application. I purchased the 6923-07 RXT and 463458. Now I'm not 100% sure my mechanic didn't add something to that. He's that good that he will install something he sees he needs to when it's open...and I trust him completely. But that is the bulk of it...and again, please review the break in and follow it. Lethal is rated high in my list of trusted vendors, they will not over sell you on something just to make a sale.
hilal
Gents thank you very much for the great information ..I called Mcleod today the link i put above for the p/n 6923-07 they told me its the wrong clutch for my GT500!! When alot of people told me its going to work in my GT500 but Mcleod service told me its not ,so they advice me that the right p/n is 6918-07 and they say that it comes as a set with steel flywheel and bolt ..any way i looked in summitracing and i found it for about 1,899.69$ + 312 $ shipping .but I the description of the part was written that its not include flywheel !!which mad me call summitracing service but the say it is including and its wrong description. If you guys don't know I m living in medal east witch make shipping very costly and i m also limited to order for some sits only as i cant use PayPal (well i had a bad experience with paypal). Hilal Your signature implies you have already bought from VMP, as they sell the clutch brand you want, and know the GT500 inside and out.. Just Talk with BJ at VMP and be done with it... Summit racing and I parted ways due to misleading info on the web site,, parts purchased and shown in stock that were later changed to Back ordered AFTER they charged my account for a partial shipment. I build and support two Mustangs, 8 bikes, Tow vehicles, trailer, Toyhauler, an an off road racing truck.. Summit Racing can kiss my ass. Will not buy from them ever again, nor recommend them to anyone. Many will disagree, thats ok... do what works for you. Oh as for ordering from the middle east. Im in Afghainstan right now.. In the last 72 hours I have ordered from VMP, Revan Racing, Late Model Restoration, Tousley Ford.. and could have orderd from Lethal as well, if things had worked out.. John was great to work with.. I just went a different way, no fault of Lethal. Granted Im shipping to the US.. but point is, any of it could have been paid for by a CC or bank transfer, and I bet any of them would have shipped anyplace your willing to pay for. thale622
I just ordered my RXT form Lethal Performance, part# 6918-07, which comes with the lightened steel flywheel part# 463458. All McLeod parts. They were the cheapest. $1301 was the total. Only thing is, they had to ship from Anaheim, CA instead of the Florida warehouse. I will have it installed next week. Lethal is the way to go. Also found a discount code! SVTSNAKE, saves 5%. Every Mustang guy recommended McLeod. Can't wait to get the parts and burn up the road! 2007_Shelby_GT
Great! let us know how it turn out! Be sure to read and follow the break in for the clutch. 500 miles of "normal" driving - more city than highway driving! (and NO jackrabbit starts or burnouts!) If the GT500 doesn't have it already, I HIGHLY recommend replacing the hydralic clutch line with a stainless steel version, AND replace the slave cylinder, (even if it looks OK), while you're in there! Both don't cost much and it will save you heartache/worry later - I didn't replace the slave cylinder and I think I'm about to regret it! Sam do you mean replace it with a new ford slave cylinder or aftermake macleod slave cylinder? as am waiting for my RXT too i called Mcleod and they say its work just fine with ford slave cylinder ,but you right as you got the job started you better do it all in one clutch and cylinder
thale622
I'm going with the Ford slave cylinder and throw out bearing, clutch will be here today! And yeah that's the depressing part about the clutch; 500 miles... easy, Sunday driving... feels like it'll take forever, but, we'll see. I've only put 70 miles on it in the last 2 months. I'm really anxious to see the oem clutch and flywheel. Some say the warp in the flywheel is obvious to the naked eye. Just glad it'll be 100 percent on Thursday! 07gt500conv
Had my stock clutch replaced last week and I am 250 miles into my break in period. Since I drive 100 miles round trip to work, one week I will have the 500 Miles. Watch out this weekend!!!!
thale622
Just got mine back... TOTALLY DIFFERENT CAR!!! I highly recommend McLeod. The OEM clutch was so bad I discovered low end torque that I never knew was there. My mechanic also agreed that it's a different car. Now the break in... 495 miles to go!
