SteelTownStang
Any recommendation for a good truck subwoofer enclosure with amp…? Nothing crazy… something that I can easily remove if necessary. While weak, I miss the thump that my Shaker 1000 had. I was looking at the Kicker and MTX… maybe Bazooka, but not sure what they sound like.
Ecrissman
I had a friend YEARS ago that had a powered bazooka tube. It added bass, was ultra easy to install (line level converter from right and left rear) and even easier to remove when he needed the extra space in his hatch back. Ninjak
JL Audio makes a sub that blends right into the trunk. A little pricey, but worth it if you want a nice fitting sub that looks stock. Link http://www.jlaudio.c...40945.0/Mustang

2011SHELBYGT500CONV
How about for a 2011 VERT? That site shows 05-09 only. Any one out there have a set up on there 2010-2012?
randymarble
I have the JL Audio sub in the trunk of my '11 Convertible. It has the 13" bad ass boomer in it. Don't install it unless you want to find rattles in your car. I also installed a gain knob next to the emergency brake so that I can adjust for MP3, HD Radio, CD and Terresterial Radio differences. Thanks for the response, and picture, looks like a clean almost factory (I think better than), but that's disappointing on the rattles it creates and the fact you have to adjust it for the different type of audio that is being played.....I may have to re-think this and not install one, but I would like that extra kick it gives.... randymarble
It isn't the Sub's fault about having to adjust the amount of gain. It has to do with the type of media that you are listening to. Try your SYNC system and the HD Radio that it comes with and compare the volume level and amount of bass in the transmission between terresterial radio and HD radio. I did the gain so I could adjust to my style without overdriving the sub on certain medias. I have used JL Audio pieces on several builds and they are extremely good quality. jd2010shelby
I have the Kicker. Looks and fits perfect. Easy install. Sound isn't booming like many big boxes. Depends on if you want to sound like the gang banger guy in the Civic or not. http://www.ShelbyStore.com/product-p/ka-10-woofer.htm
SteelTownStang
I ultimately installed the Kicker sub as well...
2011SHELBYGT500CONV
I wish I had that option, but that model is not made for convertibles and they don't have one for it.
randymarble
As well......I liked the Kicker system, but they designed it only to fit the Coupe. Kicker sent me one of their enclosures and I tried to engineer and adapt it to the convertible, but to no avail. I also didn't really want to change out the entire SYNC system and lose the originality of the look etc so the JL Audio is the way to go in that respect. The JL is not your Rice Rocket boomer box. It is extremely high quality and as mentioned above it will, like any good sub, find the rattles in your car. For instance...............the fake fuel cap on the back of the truck is poorly attached to the trunk lid.
2011SHELBYGT500CONV
Thanks for that good info, I had thought about ordering the kicker and see if it was adaptable since it looks like it could be modded in there but now I know for sure by your attempt on it. I was not looking for a rice rocket type if boom just a bit more bass but the rattles have me concerned, don't want too add ones that so far I don't gave, and on faux fuel cap, I guess that rattles a lot, will it rattle vibrate off? I haven't looked on how it's mounted, probably glued in....
Burning Blue Star IV
I ultimately installed the Kicker sub as well... Wish I would have known you were looking into the Kicker one - I would have sold you mine for very little. I used it about 15 minutes and took it out of the car the same evening. Been sitting in the storage room for about a year now. It was just too much bass for me.

Burning Blue Star IV
How much you looking to get for it? I hadn't really thought about it, jskup1. I'm not really wanting to have to ship it off somewhere as it weighs a ton and is a huge box and could get damaged in transit, etc. Would have offered it to SteelTownStang since we are near each other and could have met up.
