mrfarmdog
I stopped by their shop today to see their latest project. Shelby GT with Whipple supercharger. Awsome numbers from this car! Great job Joe and everyone else at Dynospeed! Here is the link http://www.dynospeedracing.com/index.php :banana piano:
ShelbyPilot
Wow, very interesting. Gives a little credibility to those who were doubting Shelbys Claim of 475 HP. I do have a couple of observations. It says 475 RWHP and 450 RWTQ! That is about 560 HP at the crank and 529 Tq at the crank. Those seem like huge numbers and I would say that is probably beyond the safe tune that SAI is using. How much boost is that? Did they do anything to the bottom end? I'm gonna try to contact them. Lastly, as much as I would love this car to have been named the GT350, it is not and I wish people would figure that out. Or better yet, SAI and Ford just cave and lets rename the cars, change the lettering, paint the black cars blue and restripe them in either blue or white respectively. The Shelby GT with the Whipple HO twinscrew supercharger was very impressive to say the least. The 475 rwhp number was helped by the 61 degree temps in the shop. The timing in the engine is very conservative due to the fact that it is a stock motor and on 93 octane pump gas. The Whipple HO superchargers make a great amount of power on the 05 - 07 Mustang GT's. We were very pleased with the kit and the results.

That's alot of ponies!
Alloy Dave
Will it make this power reliably/safely with no additional mods? What about cooling...will the stock cooling system work ok? That's a pretty amazing number given the reduced weight vs. the GT500...should be a runner. I just wonder about internal engine parts, transmission strength, and cooling system capacity. THanks, Dave

THanks, Dave Dave, This is what I really like about the Whipple superchargers, the kit comes with 38 lb fuel injectors, twin GT500 fuel pumps, cold air kit, intercooled supercharger, spark plugs pre-gapped, and an 8 lb pulley. The stock engine is definitely a concern and timing must be kept in a safe range to ensure motor longevity. You will have to address the factory clutch soon due to obvious reasons. A one piece driveshaft and a full exhaust system (long tube headers, x-pipe, catback) would really help the car as well. The intercooler on this kit is very efficient which is why I believe it makes more power than a Saleen supercharger. Joe
Joe@DynoSpeed
Non forged internals + too much boost = BOOM Very true however, forged motors grenade as well. It's all in the tuning and how well the customer maintains the vehicle as well. There are definitely rules that you have to follow on forced induction vehicles or they will not last very long. Joe Thanks Joe, sounds like a good last step in the journey for an awesome car...upgrade the foundation first, then go hook up the whipple.
