Installing Ford 3 gage pod on dash pad of 2010 GT500

Can I carefully drill thru dash pad, using mounting bracket as template, and not hit the HVAC center outlet; there doesn't appear to be much room for error.

I'd rather not remove dash or center cluster , Nav, etc. I have all the Ford Racing parts, though no mounting info.

I want to duplicate the Boss Laguna Seca dash install.

Has anyone doe this? Thanx

Try this link:http://www.teamshelb...Pod_Install.pdf

There's a small hole toward the front of the dash up through the 08s(at least I know that far, figuring probably through 10, but the instructions only specify 08)..

Guessing that they didn't change things too much, and figuring that even on the LS install they wanted to make assembly line installation as easy as possible--read; not having to drill

Good luck!

Just found this; looks like you will be doing some drilling if you want to do the laguna seca version: http://www.fordracingpartsdirect.com/v/vspfiles/assets/images/m-6304gpack-ma%20instructions.pdf

I thought the Top Dash Pash comes off.

So did I, until I was told different. The dash "pad" is all a part of the complete dash assembly. I saw it myself when I pulled all the front covers off for my Vac/boost gauge install.

You can't just pull the top pad, you have to pull the ENTIRE dash assembly out. It's crazy.

The link you gave is for the Shelby gauge pod.The OP is referencing the Ford Racing (Boss 302) gauge pod. Completely different animals.

Someone on this site installed one in their 2010 or newer GT500 and I'm thinking it was a 2011 because they are plug-n-play where the 2010 isn't.

Either way, you have to cut a small square hole in the dash for the wire loom to pass through and four holes for the mounting pad that the pod mounts to.

He posted the FRPP .pdf for the install instructions so if you do a search, you may find the thread. It's a VERY clean looking install, very professional looking pod too.

HTH,

Phill
