TNTchris
Hey guys, Has anyone switched out there stock headlights for aftermarket Halo's or HID kits? Maybe the Raxiums on American Muscle? If so can you tell me your thoughts on them and how they perform? I am looking for the blacked out look with some added sight performance from a upgraded bulb. I purchased the tinted covers for American Muscle and they sucked so I promptly returned them. I also purchased the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra bulbs to put in my stock lights and these helped out alot. Maybe I should just go to my tint guy and have him tint my stock headlights. Thanks in advance Chris

Dana Holmes
I have to admit that I really like those new Raxiom painted retro headlights! I am going to give them a shot. It isn't a permanent mod and can easily be changed back should I not dig it. But those headlights and the Agent 47 retro mirrors which I am also picking up further complete the late 60s look of an SGT. I think the headlights costing $375.00 shipped and custom painted is a very fair and appropriate price. The Agent 47 mirrors I am still on the fence about concerning whether to leave them satin black or have them partially painted vista blue. I don't want the entire mirror housing painted as the triangular part flush against the side of the car doesn't look right to me with the black trim coming down the window towards the hood. But, I have seen enough pics of these mirrors on peoples cars that I really am digging just leaving them black. Not worried about them fading in the hot sun. I will post some pics when I eventually purchase these and get them on my car. Dana
Soft Top
I love those lights. Not being very mechanically inclined how difficult to install in 07 Hertz. Thanks
Dana Holmes
Although I have not delved into it beyond looking under the hood - I would imagine it is a fairly easy swap. Just unbolting the light and disconnecting the wiring harness? Anybody else done such a similar swap with some incite? Thanks...

Dana Holmes
I saw the install instruction for these painted headlights on American Muscle's site. It appears you have to remove the front fascia to swap out the headlights. I didn't realize that! I would have waited and had it done when I had my front splitter installed! 08SGT/SC
Looks like the same thing just different manufacturer? Those are just reproduction lights, which the lense is removed the bezel is painted and then the lense is put back on. The lights are the 05-06 style lights though, with the bulb covers, SGT's have the 07-09 Style without the bulb cover.
doogie65
I just received my painted headlights from AM on Friday and they are definitely a nice set-up. These should flow nicely with my A-47 mirrors and the Foose hood. I have read some not so good feedback about the RPI Designs lights, which is why I never purchased a set. These Raxiom's seem to be very well made. Also keep in mind that AM offers a forum discount on places like MF, TMS and S197forms, which helps offset the price tag. Here's a few shots and I can post more once I have time to install them (hopefully this weekend).
Dana Holmes
They look nice doggie65! How much of a discount do you get if you are a member of one of those forums you mentioned above? I joined the TMS forum and now I am searching for where and how to purchase these Raxiom painted headlights with the discount! Thanks - Dana
