I can e-mail you the PDF of the SYNC user guide (for a 2012), if that would help. I don't have a Zune and I do have the Nav package, so I'm not sure I'd be able to help directly. I use the Slacker SYNC app on an iPhone, so totally different application.

This thread over at Microsoft seems to say that formatting the Zune (and reloading your music, I suppose) fixed a similar problem.

Good luck.

ok being an engineer i tried to eliminate things---the zune works in my STS V using wh-red-yellow cables--so im guessing the unit works. Then tried a single cable from te zune into the sync--again the Zune plays, altough not able to use voice commands--so again Zune works. Coonected the Zune to my PC using the USB cable abd the PC sees the Zune unit, so im thinking the cable is ok, although itis possible the pin needed to play music thru SYNC may be bad. So its either a bad cable, which i doubt, or the uSB connection in the Shelby may be bad--Ill try and fine anotehr cable, if not ill bring it to the dealer---

for future refernce how do you wipe a zunes memory clean-i only have a 1000 songs on mine, and they are all on my PC,but id imagine itd be a bit of a pain to add the songs again

Plug your Zune into your computer then start the Zune application. In the top right hand corner of the Zune application, click Settings. Once in settings, select the tab that supports your device. In the column, you should already be on Sync Options. Within the information on the right you will see Erase All Content. This will clear your Zune and you can then start over fresh.
