GT350conv
I'm on the fence here. I have the 2012 Race Red SVTPP Convertible with the stripe delete package. Should I put the white SVT stripes on, or leave it 100% OEM? I like the thin SVT stripes on the front, but they look small for the rear. Maybe just the rocker stripe? The larger width non SVT stripe package would just mix up the car too much. I value your opinions! Pictures attached:
MY500SS
Go with the SVT stripes.
Troy Reed
Personal choice. All combinations look good. I went with a SVTPP stripe delete, lived with that for a year and loved it, then put on full stripes about 8 months ago and love my stripes! Burning Blue Star IV
I would go with the SVT stripes...the thin white stripes with the black accents looks tremendous on red.
shel-b001
I say the SVT stripes , but in the end its your decision . Good luck
YZD263
I would tend to keep it as it is. For some strange reason, I would not consider stripe delete on a red coupe but like the no stripe look on a convertible. As other have said though, this is your decision and you should do whatever makes you happy.

ewahlin
I just added red SVT stripes to my Kona Blue stripe delete car. The car to me is now amazing with the stripes. I love the SVT stripes because they have accents and are thinner (personal preference). I also changed out my seats to have the red stripes. This is not a cheap decision by the way. My dealer told me they paid $2K to put the stripes on (part of the deal when I bought the car), and I paid close to another $2k to switch out the seats.Would have just ordered the car this way but bought in November (after orders closed) and when deals were starting to become good on the 2012. socalwrench
Since you're asking for opinions. I still don't like the thin stripes. They just don't fit well with the size of the car. Honestly, I would like them off. Greg
jerseygator
Flip a coin. Heads you win, Tails you win. No wrong decision here... So true... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! But since you asked... I vote for stripes.

RazorbackMustang
Normally I don't care for stripe deletes. However, I really don't like the thin stripes of the SVTPP. I would have preferred if they left them alone. So with SVTPP I would go delete.
carfixer
My opinion, go with the wide stripes. I'm not particularly a fan of delete stripes.
osu823
Wide Stripes. It's a Shelby. The thin stripes are a pure Ford creation. Nothing says Shelby more than the wider stripes. - See '65 to '67 GT350s and GT500s
ewahlin
This is why I like the thin stripes. http://www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/2298,10971/1967-Ford-GT40_photo.aspx http://www.histomobile.com/dvd_histomobile/usa/41/1967_Ford_GT_40.htm The GT40 was my all time dream car growing up and still is! As you might know, Shelby was involved in racing those cars. Erik
Ecrissman
Its a tough call for me, mostly because it was a stripe delete and i am weird about keeping the car exactly the way it was ordered. If that doesnt matter to you i would go with svt stripes. They were important enough for me that I didnt by a car that had every option. I wantex except stripes. Fortunately i found the same car with stripes.
2010KonaBlueGT
I'm on the fence here. I have the 2012 Race Red SVTPP Convertible with the stripe delete package. Should I put the white SVT stripes on, or leave it 100% OEM? If I had it to do all over again I'd go with a Kona Blue stripe delete car and add my own stripes after the fact. That would give me solid black seats, which will go with ANY color or style of stripe I decided on, AND give me time to make up my mind on the style/color AND give me options that Ford did not offfer. GT350conv
I do appreciate all of your input. However, I'm still on the fence due to all the views presented. I guess if I had to sum it up, the GT500's just look good no matter how they're dressed. I guess I'll wait to see what catches my eye at Carlisle. hawkbarr
I agree with tdreed1265 . Go without for a while and then decide later. Thats what I did and love the stripes. IMHO, Shelbys look naked without stripes but its an individual choice.
firepro
I vote stripes. I also like the wider ones, but understand why you would go with the new smaller ones.
wanted2b
I have to agree with the members. SVT stripes would look awesome on the red. If it were me I'd have someone paint them on and the clear coat it when done.
GT350conv
The last (2) coupes I had restored were 86's which I painted white with the blue Lemans and rocker stripes and Blue with the white stripes. But this car is new and it's a convertible so I don't have the heart to start scuffing my new finish & paint them on. I've always like the the wide stripes but they are not the SVTPP and the narrow stripes look good on the front, but not so much on the rear. The car has a lot of surface to it. I think SVT should have kept the 9" stripe universal and offered the SVTPP in different color options. Keep the opinions coming, I enjoy reading them. joebob948
It's basically uo to one's individual taste---HOWEVER, i FEEL THAT IT ISN'T REALLY A SHELBY without the stripes!!!!!!!The stripes IMHO really "make" the car!!!!! Whatever, you've made the right choice for you!!!!!!!!!!

ewahlin
It's cheaper to get the car with stripes and take them off if you end up not liking them as opposed to adding them on later. Of course there is the stripes/no stripes on the seats you have to consider. Some people on here like the plain black (no stripes) look on the seats even if they have a car with stripes. My dilemma was that it was late in 2011 and I found a Kona blue car with all the options that I wanted but had no stripes. Since I wanted the red SVT stripes (which seems to be a rare color combo) I bought the car and asked the dealer to put them on. I ended up adding the red stripe seats later which I really like!
