twobjshelbys
A local collector that I know and have posted photos of some of his cars bought it: http://www.timescall.com/ci_19803518?IADID=Search-www.timescall.com-www.timescall.com This went to the auction a year or so ago with a lot of controversy over its claim, and I was there when they read a lawyer generated script about the real provenance. That controversy will probably not be reconciled in the near future.

I thought this was the old one and there was a lot of talk about the other one too but it looks like they are different cars.
shelbymotorsports
Like Tony I was first confused but the pics refreshed my memory. It appears the Dallas hearse is real and the Bethesda hearse is a clone. Steve
ShelbyEra08
i think the Hearse carried him from the hospital to Air Force One, then the Navy ambulance carried him from AFO to.......washington dc.?
JeffJ
i think the Hearse carried him from the hospital to Air Force One, then the Navy ambulance carried him from AFO to.......washington dc.? Correct, we are talking about two different trips, two different cars. The Navy Ambulance from last year's sale is not a clone, it is real, but the mystery is around if or not that is THE one that carried Kennedy or not. The JFK Hearse that was sold this year in the above pictures carried Kennedy from the Hospital in Dallas to Love field airport. Interesting though that both of these vehicles ended up in Colorado in two different collections. The one that sold last year is in the Tammy Allen collection in Grand Junction, CO. Very nice collection if you are ever through that area. Just off I-70 on the west side of Grand Junction. http://www.allenuniq...-the-collection She has some amazing cars! A couple of the Hurst Vipers, an Iaccoca Mustang, and much more. The below article has a picture of both vehicles. Interesting that this is from Jan. 2011 then the Hearse showed up at Barrett Jackson this year. http://www.foxnews.c...ion-challenged/ Also Tony, based on the article you posted, looks like we will get the honor to have another huge Auto Collection open to the public, in the Boulder area in the near future. That will make over 10 collections that I know of with 50+ cars here in CO. That's pretty interesting. Some are open to the public, Some are not. From what I've seen lately, there are probably quite a few more. Still trying to find that meca of Corvette and Mustang Collection out on the eastern plains somewhere. He has a Corvette and Mustang from every year, and Chevelles, and..... Edited February 9, 2012 by JeffJ

I've seen some of his cars at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. He had the old 20's stuff out then - Packards, etc., stuff that would rival Clive Cussler's things from the same era, although I think Cussler's "quality" is higher. If I were a bettin' man I'd put the chances of seeing Ron Pratte's cars open to the public before Tebos. Or maybe in the same week, but I'm holding my breath to see either any time soon.
