2012 Shelbys $8000 under sticker in Texas

I was in the local Ford dealer today to get some parts I ordered and noticed they had four, new 2012 Shelby coupes for sale at $49,988 which is $8,000 under sticker price. I saw two red ones, one gray and one black. They appear to be loaded and list at $58,000.

It's a great dealership and if anyone is interested, contact Jim Houghton at 940/902-1690, Ford Country in Lewisville, TX.

Also, they just took in a trade-in, an orange, 2008 Shelby GT-C, fitted with a Saleen supercharger, that could be purchased in the $26,000 - $27,000 range. Looks like a nice car.

Seems to be some pretty good deals on the GT 500's right now.

My SVTPP + nav was less than 50K out the door. I thought at first maybe there had been a mistake, but i guess the deals are all around now. A friend has a 2010 GT CS he wants to sell, in order to move to a more "practical" car (he's recently married; you do the math). I need to tell him to politely refuse his wife's suggestions and trade up while the prices are good! I'm sure the hearse in 50 years will be plenty practical. In the meantime....

Had a CO dealer try to sell us one for $10000 OVER sticker. When I asked if I heard correctly, she answered that's what it takes to get one. And they had it on the floor at their dealership! Guess they thought they had a real sucker on the line. But dealt with a very good dealer and got exactly the deal we asked for in another CO town.

I talked to those guys a while back and they did not seem to interested in selling one. A friend refered me to a dealership in N. Richland hills and my drive off price on a loaded 2012 was 51.

Yep, that's what I thought. I guess you still have to get the right salesperson at the right time. Otherwise, there will be 13s next to 12s and then 'we' can ask if they are interested.

12's are dead meat at this point and will have to be steeply discounted to clear the market. The sticker prices on these cars have risen rapidly to ridiculous levels. 55 or 60 grand sticker for a Mustang is absurd and a very, very, tough sell.

Speedy, I totally agree with you here. If the 2013 500's are $60,000, I don't see them jumping out the door at all. And, for the dealers that have the obglitory "admin" markups, they'll find very few, if any, "fish" for them.

My wife sells new Audi's here in Austin. She had a guy in last week trying to trade a 2012 loaded GT500 with 9k miles. They offered him 42k for it. He paid sticker at 58K in March 2011.

That's a tough pill to swallow.

I agree as well, the prices are getting crazy. I get that they go up due to the improvements, but just a few years back a loaded Regular GT was Low $30's, now they are over $40k. 10k or about 30% price hike in just 3-4 years.

Glad to see that I am not the only enthusiast who is shocked with current Mustang prices. GM has done the same thing with the Corvette and had disasterous results. Z06s stickering in the 80s and going as high as 90. Absolutely retarded pricing. They rot on the vine with $17,000 advertised discounts. The current administration in this nation has depressed business and employement to the point that discretionary income that has traditionally supported these products is now virtually non-existant. The future sales of these 50-75 thousand dollar toys is in great jeopardy. Great products from both GM and Ford but pricing that will surely end in their extinction.

Anyone have some real numbers from the PA market. With 2013 model looming i have considered grabbing a 2012. I window shopped a few local dealers and they didnt seem real anxious.

Any advice on negotiations would be appreciated, I am hoping to have around $40,000 to put down but havent negotiated with that kind of cash before.

If it were me I would START negotiations at factory invoice and go from there. Bring the 40K cash to flash to show you are a serious buyer. Remember true dealer cost is not the factory invoice they will show you--take off the holdback and hidden dealer incentives that are there that the public cannot access via internet that they have to work with.

Do you have any suggestion to find real dealer invoice? I have researched x-plan pricing that i do qualify for if the dealer

honors it. I have looked on edmunds
