Snake Beast
Hi to all, this is my firt time here and with a Shelby as well. I have a 2009 Shelby and my clutch is already on the need to be replaced. I am working on special request where I live to send the car to Vegas and have the SS 750hp or 800 hp conversion. I have to replace clutch now because I cannot move from the garage since it won't run. So, I need to make an investment on it and since I will make the conversion which clutch is ideal to handle that kind of HP. I am not a drag racer, just a street driver. I will appreciate any information on this. I have read about brands like McLeod but that is not the problem, which of all is the problem. Thanks!! Snake Beast
Well Moncho, unfortunately they don't. I mean, do they if I lived in the US? I asked a local guy as third party from the person who can do the shipping and they said should be around $5,000.00 round trip to take the car to Vegas. I was thinking on trying to get it to Houston and then drive it to Vegas. Does that make sense? The car is 14,000 miles and it's a 2009, I think it won't matter to put that mileage on the counter right? Hehehe. That is maybe a good question. Another thing, they are charging me $2,800 for the twin Spec installed at Vegas. If I want to drive the car I will have to do the clutches in Puerto Rico because it won't make it not even out of town. Otherwise I will have to send the car directly from home to Vegas. Is that price good enough or there can be some savings? Thanks! Snake Beast
Moncho
Snake Beast - I just got off the phone with CS Shelby America, INC and talked to a gentlemen by the name of Tim (702) 683-9484. He states there is free shipping from the CONUS to Las Vegas, the catch is that this offer runs until the 31st of Oct. This means if you get it to Florida they would take it from there, he said it costs them about $3,800 round trip. They would need a reservation which is a deposit in order for you to take advantage of this promotion. Their main number is 702-942-7325 Shelby America Hope this helps! rsfdiver
Ford dealer replaced my clutch with the mcloud clutch for 800 bucks. As good as a spec without the wait. The clutch came from lethal performance the 800$ included the tear down evaluation, rejection from ford regarding the tsb and the installation of the mccloud clutch, KR short throw shifter an ford racing shifter arem and knob 2400$ total. A better clutch that will handle 1000hp

A better clutch that will handle 1000hp Although I haven't had my clutch done and hopefully not for a long time that appears to be a very competitive labor cost. Be nice for others to chime in to see if they agree on the labor costs for the clutch replacement. Would be even nicer if you could post the invoice w/o any personal information for anyone to use when replacing their clutch from Ford or anyone else. Thanks for posting the information and please let us know your impressions of the Mcleod setup as when the time comes I think I'll be going with this setup. Seems to be a happy medium between an extremely aggressive setup and an OEM. Cheers, Moncho
rsfdiver
When I went in origially for a slipping clutch I brought in all the info for the tsb. The dealers original quote for replacing th clutch with the same junk it came with was 3500 to 4000. I told them no because I was still on my first set of tires and brake pads. They said that they would have to investigate the clutch and flywheel to see if the tsb applied $500. I said l would order the clutch from shelby and they said that would be fine. The spec ll was a 2 to 3 week wait so I got the Mcloud from Lethal. They put it in anyway with no complaints along with the KR shifter and FR shift arm and knob. $800 and some change
