SHELBY1962X
Has anybody installed these on their car? I have the KR exhaust on my GT500 and it is just too quiet. Looking for more of a throaty sound but not like open headers either. Is there a performance gain with them?
BAD500Chris
What mid pipe are you running? Stock? Keep the KR mufflers and switch to an H pipe instead of the X. You will get the throaty tone you are looking for.
blkGT500nCA
I've got muffler deletes with the stock mid pipe and love it!
SHELBY1962X
I have the stock X-pipe. How loud would the delete pipes be?
shel-b001
I have the stock X-pipe. How loud would the delete pipes be? If you want to know what it sounds like take your mufflers off only takes 15 min.
blkGT500nCA
I have the stock X-pipe. How loud would the delete pipes be? They're not too loud at all. Perfect when you put your foot into the peddle, but not too aggressive when just cruising. No drone either.
08KR525
I thought I might try the muffler deletes on my KR, but someone on TS posted that they felt that the car actually lost power due to not having any back pressure.
hotrodrock
Certainly some differences of opinion in the replies. I put the Pypes muffler delete Loudmouth on mine and yes, its loud. As with a lot of muffler delete setups, you might tend to get some popping on deceleration. Pypes has released a new muffler delete axle-back that supposedly lessens the popping on deceleration but I listened to some on youtube and couldn't tell much difference from what I have. Doesn't bother me much since I like to announce my presence with authority.
blkGT500nCA
My muffler deletes are Magnaflows. No popping on decel here.
SHELBY1962X
Case closed............Muffler delete it is. I like to announce my presence and really piss off my only neighbor. On a funny note I had a SVT Cobra before the GT500 with headers no cats and a Bassani exhaust, that car was loud as hell. I got pulled over by the cops one day and the officer asked me if I knew why he pulled me over. My reply was yeah I know, my exhaust is to freakin' loud. Then I added - don't EVER buy a car off Ebay sight unseen, can you believe some moron paid money for this crap. I said my wife would not even drive with me to the cruise night. because the exhaust is so bad. He said have a good evening and take care of that exhaust. BS'd my way out of that one... Screamin Demon
I have the Pypes muffler delete on mine and love it. It isn't anywhere near as loud as my '04 Cobra was but it has a nice rumble at WOT. I am thinking of going catless but I heard it is too loud. DWY330
I have the pypes muffler deletes and added the shelby KR H pipe to lower the tone, and its sweet music to your ears. Not too loud and how it should have sounded coming from ford, probably the reason they went back to the H pipe on the new models. XY GTHO Phase III
This is a little off the subject but I have alloy metallic coloured GT500 and I was thinking of getting some new razor wheels for it but could figure out if I wanted black or chrome. After seeing yours with the chrome I think I will go that route. Just curious what size are they. Thanks Rob Sorry to hijack the thread, they are 20x9 front, 20x10 rear chrome shelby razors with perelli p zero's. They no longer make shelby razors, they were discontinued in September. American Racing still makes a razor wheel but they wont have "shelby" stamped in one of the spokes. I also don't think they are making one with the right offset to clear the brembos, you may want to call them.
