engine compartment painted with new intake

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of doing the whole engine compartment with mesh to cover up the blue pearl. I was not going that way but since everyone out there has their engine compartment done that way. I figure what's one more blue pearl engine dime a dozen.

I like it! Especially the mesh in the scoops. That's how they should have come.

I agree and have vented many of times on here how it's a pain to clean the fake mesh. It's easier to clean this do to being painted and having a smooth surface it made my wife happy. She doesn't have to hear me cursing out my car any more!! But in the same breath if only the American car industry went the distance for detail it would make the cars more appealing. I can't tell you how many times just doing simple up grades that should have been done in the factory. That when bringing my new cars to the dealership they would say wow why does your car look different.

If anything owning a dealership one would have every option to dress up a new car. At least aftermarket wheels and tires and exhaust and of course upgrade exterior.

Looks great Ant...........I may need some of that mesh for my side scoops! :shades:

Thanks Mike I got it off ebay for 13.00 the mesh comes in 4 colors and of course I went with the silver. But its more of a chrome finish and to bright for my eye's so painted them with the dark grey. I'm sure you guys know how I take safety seriously use gloves when cutting and don't leave any on the floor it can cause a flat !! Come to think of it my wife truck has a slow leak in the back tire. :headscratch:

I used emblem glue it drys clear and the mesh is under 10.00 not 13.00 on ebay. If you do the set up dont use to much glue or it will run out of the mesh. You should use a stick of wood or plastic then tape it in place to dry.

You don't have to buy products made for a car you can always make your own stuff. I walk thru Lowes or homedepot to find the similar items for more than half the cost.
