Taska Ford vs Shelby L.V

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I just purchased a 2012 Shelby GT500 and going to do the 750 hp Super Snake package, my question is do the members here recommend Tasca Ford or Shelby L.V to do the work. I have been down this road befor with a couple of my 2002 SS Camaros and it can be a real nighmear with some of these mod. shops with wait times and getting parts. What was suppost to be a 4 week build turns into 6 months. I have been reading through this form and found that some other individuals have experianced the same issues. So having said that if you were to select a company to do the SS package who would it b?

I went with Shelby L.V. and was well taken care of and it was just my preference to go with the " original " mod shop. However Tasca Ford was my 2nd choice as far as a mod shop with some history also. If you go with a Kenne Bell super charger, you'll want to go with Shelby L.V. as Tasca prefers Whipple. If you go with a Whipple super charger than either place works.

I went with Tasca simply because I couldn't afford to get my car to Vegas! In the end I don't think it matters, other than I have heard people wanted to be able to say "It was done by Shelby". The choice is yours.

EDIT By the way welcome to the clubhouse from one Doug to another!

Shelby L.V. has free shipping up to $3000 if you place order by 10/31/11.

Welcome to Team Shelby. Send it to LV. With the Free Shipping you can't go wrong. I think the Mod Shops will have a special place in the registry as there were so few built that it will be an interesting sidebar. I don't think it will matter as far as value is concerned. Shelby has to certify all conversions.

I chose "The Mod Shop" in Las Vegas also. The other facilities are "authorized modification centers", not that it matters, but there is only one Mod Shop...................and one Shelby American. <<The place where it all began.

I chose Tasca and could not be happier, they were outstanding. I do not have a SS, but every time I go to Tasca they have many in process.

Not sure what is meant by only one Mod Shop??????? Tasca is an approved mod shop and I would put their skills with these cars against anyones. They were installing Superchargers well before Shelby came back.

Not sure if things have changed, but at Tasca you can customize your mods and do additional mods, LV did not offer this in the past.

I am sure you will happy either way, I would talk to both or even visit both and do your homework.

Shelby's shop is called "The Mod Shop", it is it's title. The others are authorized modification centers for Shelby vehicles/products. The Mod shop is "The Mod Shop" - Shelby Automobiles, Las Vegas Nevada.

I don't remember the exact text but I believe the Tasca Super Snake dash plaque says something like "Authorized Shelby Mod Center". <<That is similar to "Mod Shop"..........

This has nothing to do with who installed S/C's first, or employee skills.

I am not trying to sway a decision either way. Shelby Automobiles Las Vegas is just that, and any other location is not.

Sounds like either location is a good choice, as both result in an official Shelby registered car.

If cost were no object I would, personally, choose the Las Vegas shop - after all, its where my Shelby GT was born.

However, being in the NE, and since money usually is an object, I would go to Tasca for obvious reasons.

But it doesn't matter because I'm not in a position to do either!!

To clarify folks, we no longer call the our performance upgrade division the mod shop. We have been under Shelby American Motorsports for the last 18 months. Several exciting new developments over the last 6 months. Going to be an interesting spring 2012!
