4289cobra
Has anyone had any luck at all trying to install the 2010 valve stem sensors on an 09? Just purchased a set of 20 black alcoa's from cruizin concepts and need to add TPMS sensors. I saw an entire set with programmer on American Muscle but didn't know if anyone has used them for the strap sensors or not?

I saw an entire set with programmer on American Muscle but didn't know if anyone has used them for the strap sensors or not? I ordered my CS69's from CC and they came with bands and sensors and then within 2 months the right front had come lose, clunked around and was damaged enough that it had to be replaced. I am curious when the other 3 will end up in the same result. I wish I had gone with bandless sensors that from what I know are now available for 2008-2009 Ford Mustangs. 2010KonaBlueGT
Has anyone had any luck at all trying to install the 2010 valve stem sensors on an 09? From what I know they are not compatible and will not retrofit either way (from 2010+ to '09+Earlier, or from '09+E to 2010+). Something about a different frequency, or band-width, or something like that. I have a set of 18" Alcoa GT500KR wheels that were orginally purchased from Shelby and I'm not sure if they mounted sensors on their wheels when they sold them "whole" or not (you would think so) but if they did, they do NOT work on my 2010 GT500. My TPMS light comes on and stays on until the next ign. cycle and the "Low Tire Pressure" warning appears in the Drivers Information Display once per drive cycle (push the reset button and it goes away but the TPMS light stays lit). WHAT I would think you could "train" them before you actually mounted them to see if the car recognizes them.
John Allen
I was told by a Ford Tech that the banded and stem mounted are NOT interchangable because Ford went from a 32 Bit processor to a 64 Bit processor. This is Ford OEM equipment, nothing about aftermarket stuff. I put the factory wheel/tire setup off my '07 on the '11 and the sensors will not communicate with the car. Just picked up the OEM stem sensors from Ford today to go on the Alcoas for the '11.
