Cdvision
Tomorrow the blue beast gets shipped off to our new home in Alberta and we fly out Monday. I'm just enjoying a final nice day of Vancouver cruising. I'm sure going to miss having my morning coffee at the beach.

Cdvision
Glad to have another "high quality" Shelby lover in the delightful province of Alberta. Welcome my friend, where in Alberta are you moving to? QSS Thanks. Moving to the mighty city of champions!!! The Oilers are going to be cup contenders in 2-3 yrs. One thing I hated about Vancouver was the Canucks. Lol
QuickSilverShelby
Thank goodness your not moving to Calgary :barf: Just kidding all you Calgary Flame'ers. Just kiding Maybe. Anyway, I grew up in Edmonton and it is still a great city. AND the oilers are still 5 times a better a team than Cowberry Flames QSS P.S. my apologizes to Larry T. ......................... you can't help where you were born

Cdvision
Cd, Going to miss your great pics from Vancouver BC... Have a safe trip east and post when you get "home". Thanks. I'm going to miss driving my beast year round while it takes in that cool sea level air, fueled by 94 octane ethanol free gas. 91 octane Shell is the best pump gas around that is common out there and Edmonton is at 2300 ft above sea level. The beast will feel sluggish out there compared to here. I'm just going to have to get that VMP TVS once I get settled in. Lol
Cdvision
Dropped the car off at the carriers depot this morning......just have to try and forget about it for a few days until I get to see it on Tuesday. I know it's going to need a good bath. Pretty dusty in the yard and good chance of heavy rain over the next couple of days. Feeling a little stressed. Here's the last pics of it in Vancouver. knightowl
Hey Cdvision; Hope you have a good trip to our neck of the woods. Those are great pics BTW!!!! I'm jealous and doing the opposite next year and moving to the Island. What brings you here to Alberta? Did you get a decent price to get the Shelby shipped? I'm thinking of doing the same thing when I go. Thanks.
Burning Blue Star IV
Always enjoy seeing your pics Cdvision. Congrats on moving to your new home....I take it that it is a good thing? I hope Edmonton gets back to being an elite hockey team...they have a solid very young core to build around now...but it'll probably take a couple years as you mentioned...they could surprise people and compete sooner. Always seems strange when you see Edmonton near the bottom of the NHL standings...just doesn't seem right.

Always seems strange when you see Edmonton near the bottom of the NHL standings...just doesn't seem right. Thanks guys!! The Mrs got a huge promotion that requires relocation back to Edmonton. It will be nice to be able to buy a house again, Vancouver real estate is outrageous a 650 sq/ft condo runs about $425K+ a modest older house in a non-desireable area close to downtown is around $800k+. A $500k house out in the burbs means a 2-3+ hr daily commute...in Edmonton we can buy a new 1900-2000 sq/ft house with a 2 car garage about a 30 min drive to work for around $400k. Shipping for the cars was about $500 each. We were only out here for 1 1/2 yrs so our friends and family back in Edmonton are pretty excited to have us back and it will be great to see everyone again. We met some great people out here and I reconnected with several friends that moved to Vancouver years ago. I'm sure we'll be back to visit 2-3 times a yr as my sister also lives here. Happy and sad to go...but we might end up back in Vancouver one day.

You're so right about the real estate market in Vancouver compared to here; you get so much more here for your dolllar. I'm glad the prices on the Island where I'm looking are more like Edmonton though. as long as I don't get too close to some Victoria locations. Thanks for the info on the shipping too; that's cheaper than driving the car down almost. Did you shop around for a carrier or did you have a line on a good one already? Welcome back! '10Kona
Welcome back! At least Edmonton doesn't have any snow yet. Saw a couple Shelbys on the streets over the weekend. -10C might be a little chilly when it comes to traction though. Oh well, here's to warm spring days (and the oilers in the playoffs!!!) Cdvision
The car arrived with some damage to the front splitter ( a couple of scuff marks). But the shippers paid for a new one. I got to drive it around for a few days before I parked it at a friends shop for the winter. I also managed to scrape the front rh rim on a curb...aarrrggghhh!! We bought a new house that is just finishing being built and we take possession on Jan 19, 2012. Here's the final pics of the year.
Cdvision
Oh and I bought a 2005 Hyundai Accent for a winter beater...had a remote starter installed too. Lol The wife's GT is all ready to go with the winter tires and rims installed.
SVT NAJA
Cd, Congrats on your (soon to be) new home! Also good news to hear that your GB made the move without any significant damage and that the hauler is a standup outfit. That pic of the covered Shelby in the shop (while probably quite common this time of year up your way) is really depressing. Here's to next spring... The good news about being back in Edmonton is that my friends automotive shop has several hoists that I have access to. So no more dealer rip-off oil changes for me. I may just do a spring/strut/shock swap over the winter. I see Ford Racing has a nice, new inexpensive package (part # M-18000-G) for 2007-2012 GT500's using the SVT-PP struts/shocks and the Ford racing springs. LMR has it on for $529. :D

Cdvision
I twisted wrenchs with my friend for 5 yrs in the early to mid 1990's. It was at a brake shop my dad owned. My friend bought the shop off my dad in the late 1990's.

Are you building a single story place ? How many SF will it have ? Will it be your retirement home ? I built my home 9 years ago and decided to go single story because they are so much easier to maintain. My intention was that this will be my retirement home for my wife and I. I just paid it off this year and love not having a house payment.
