Blasterd
My 2012 appears to be dragging the front brakes. It is still pretty new with less than 4,000km on it and I have not been happy with the fuel mileage, and the rear wheels tend to break free even when I try to be conservative and smooth when pulling away. My 2010 GT500 never had this problem and always gave me great mileage (22 to 26 mpg), but this 2012 with track pack only gives me about 15 to 16 mpg. For the last few days, there has been a "clunk" from the front end when I start out for the first drive of the day. Then today, it was a little bit wet, and when I tried to exit the parking lot I started out (gently) and I spun my rear wheels repeatedly (doing a whopping 5 to 10 mph in a crowded parking lot) until the front end went "clunk" again and then she took right off. I can only assume the clunk was the front brake calipers releasing. This leads me to the conclusion the front brakes were dragging, I was wondering if the issue might be related to the poor fuel mileage. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Tejas500
I have a rear brake that the dealership can't seem to get to stop rubbing. They take it in and sand down the pads, tweak the location and piston throw, it goes away for a day and then it comes back twice as loud. I am taking it back in this week and demanding a new rotor/caliper/pads back there.

Any more than .010" and it's going to rub/squeak. .005 or so would be "good". I went through 2 rear axles before I got a straight one. Brand new car = .024. Brand new replacement = .022. 3rd replacement = .002. Ford has crappy suppliers. It causes the wheel to rotate out of round and bang into the pad - wearing it down and squeaking. ChrisSD
You have to do a lot yourself. My dealer couldn't find the problem either. I had to spend $150 of my own money on a dial indicator set, take pics of the hosed runout, and then they finally believed me and checked the runout and finally got a good axle.
