LTC9024
As I have posted I just recently purchased a 2008 Super Snake. I was told that it has the Shelby Eibach suspension in it. I have noticed a "clunking" sound from the rear of the area of the car. It happens when passing over some bumps and they do not have to be severe. It reminds me of the sound from years ago if a shock absorber was loose or worn out. Maybe this is normal. Any comments. The SS upgrade only has 1300 km on it. I get asked what the sound is when showing the car off to people. Thanks

If not, that is where I would start unless you find an exhaust contact issue as mentioned above. Since these are a hard poly bushings they will make noise when they are dry. I wouldn't think that there would be a "clunk" from dry bushings, but maybe something is binding because of dry bushings? Also.................petroleum based grease is not the proper lubricant for the poly suspension bushings. Silicone based grease is recommended for all of the poly bushings front and rear on our cars. If you take the trunk liners out and push down back and forth on the back of the trunk opening, you hear the sound coming from the top of the shock. Also if you take a wheel off and put your ear next to the shock while another person pushes on the trunk opening, this confirms the sound comes directly from inside the top of the shock. My bushings were greased from Shelby American in Las Vegas when new. I now have 2800 miles since 2/1/11 delivery. Not sure if greasing bushings again will help much except for allowing a slightly more free movement for the shocks. Planning on greasing every Spring anyway. I've had another Mustang with Steeda Stage 4 suspension ( Tokico Illumina Shocks) have similar " stiiff clunks". I think this is normal, but I'm not positive and welcome any feedback with SS owners with the Eibach Suspension Upgrade. However I only hear this sound with the windows up. I did confirm the shock's hardware is all tight.
Torch40
Take a look at this pic. Bump stops that limit the travel of the suspension. This is a a pic of my 40th before my Griggs install. If you have the same set up this could be your culprit.

My bump stops look the same and so do the bump stop brackets with the missing dust in a circle from contact with the bump stops. However I think that's from harder bumps when it sounds like a solid metal "crash" versus a lighter clunking over very minor road imperfections without full suspension travel.
