slbgtsc
Who is using teh Aerofoce Interceptor gauge? I am looking at adding one of these to my gauge package because it will let me monitor oil temp, water temp and oil pressure with one gauge. Anybody using this gauge? If so how about some feedback. thanks
doogie65
I have run a dual set-up for a couple years on a SOS pillar pod and really like them. They have a ton of flexibility with all the parameters you can view. Just be careful on the display color as the blue/black I originally had were very hard to see in bright sunlight. But I recently swapped them for a white/black display set-up, which are much easier to view.
silentg
Been running a single Interceptor in a Roush Vent pod. They are a little pricey, but if you consider all the gauges they can replace, plus can be used as a code reader, it's not so bad. For supercharged cars they are nice, I can watch IAT and Fuel pressure right from the car's sensors.

So do you have your setup cycing through a few different parameters? Is the install pretty straight forward.

andrewnagle1964
I am thinking hard about this as well with the vent pod, just also wanting to do the Wideband sensor at the same time Andrew
Macomb Mi 08 SGT
Would like to run that gauge in a vent pod but how is the cable routed from the rear of the gauge? I tried running a wire through the vent behind the opening but after about 5 ft. it still didn't show up anywhere under the instrument panel where the duct is for your feet. I used the vent to the right of the steering wheel. Maybe it's not that simple. Any info available? Thanks Don
silentg
Don, Make sure you do not run the cable down the vent itself, you have to run it thru the gap between the vent opening and the vent tube itself, it's a little tight getting the plug thru, but the wire will fit between the foam insulation between the vent louvers and vent tube. You will need to pull the kick panel under the dash to feed the wire to the OBD port. I am using the same vent you are planning on, and ran the cable up and over the steering column, and back down near the OBD. By the way, my gage fit pretty loosely in the vent pod, just wrap some black electrical tape around the gage until it fits snugly.
slbgtsc
when you connect the gauge at the obd port, do you have to reset anything if you disconnetc to load a tune of anything like that? Thanks for the info.

SoFL05GT
You have to install a real oil pressure sending unit to have it read real oil pressure, which I did back when I installed a single aeroforce gauge on my 2005 GT. You'll need to hookup the sending unit to the analog inputs on the back of the gauge.
Rex B
that's a very nice unit. I have been using a Scangauge for several years. http://www.scangauge.com/ Does most of what the aeroforce does, and a few additional things. About $100 cheaper, but not nearly as elegant. If you need the data and scan tool functions but don't want to mount it permanently, it's a good alternative.
lawdude
Get a PLX KIWI Bluetooth for about a hundred bucks and a Torque app for your smart phone for about four bucks and your reading everything you can read with an aeroforce (unless you decide to get the boost/wideband kits). You can set up as many as 6 readouts per screen and have flip through multiple screens. You can set the size of the display and define either analog or digital readouts. The torque app also has an accelerometer and can give you a true mph via gps.
EL SHELBY
I've been looking at the PLX devices. They look great and cover everything availible thru the OBDII and can have additional sensors daisy chained but it gets pricey doing so. PLX Their newest gauge is a deal at $100.
