johnrehder
I installed a heavy duty radiator this weekend to help with the extra heat the supercharger creates in hot weather. Last time I ran hard at the track the temp guage hot a little too high for my taste. What is the stock thermostat temp in the Shelby?
clark17357
What radiator did you put in? You might need more than just the radiator to keep things cool. You folks in Georgia know what hot temperatures are like so you may want to look at what Van at Revan Racing has to offer: http://www.revanracing.com/ I got the full set up and it made all the difference on my car. I am envious of your Paxton. That was my first choice but, thanks to California's smog laws, I could not get it put on my 2008. Jim
johnrehder
I installed a Mishimoto unit, 264.00 delivered roughly. When my brother in law and I removed the stock radiator I couldn't believe how puny it was compared to the all aluminum unit. Lifetime warrenty too.I'll be at Road Atlanta the 3rd and 4th of December so weather should be good hopefully. I love my Paxton setup it makes a wonderfull noise! What radiator did you put in? johnrehder
Unfortunately I forgot to take comparison pictures, sorry guys. I'll see if I can take a couple with the radiator cover off. I was impressed with the new unit. Post a picture if you get a chance unless its all buttoned up already. clark17357
Well, you forgot to read the rules, then. That means you have to rip out your new radiator, put in the old one and then do it over, taking photos all along the way. Jim

Last time I ran hard at the track the temp guage hot a little too high for my taste. What is the stock thermostat temp in the Shelby? Stock thermo is 192. I have the Mishimito radiator too. NordicShelby
I have the Shelby upgraded radiator, heat exchanger with dual fans and I have the Whipple 550 supercharger and I rarely run hot on the track. When you get the Whipple kit they send you a 160 t-stat. I also installed the Ford racing temp gauge to just make sure everything is keeping cool. It came in handy once when I blew a belt and within seconds the temp gauge went soaring , so I knew to turn it off and coast in
2007_Shelby_GT
Guess it depends on how long your sessions are - I didn't have a problem in 95 degree plus heat at Sebring. Sam
NordicShelby
Its totally normal to run 220 on the track. If you get above 240 you better so down and let it cool down
americaniron
That's cool, pun intended. It should help you out when when you hit the track. Congrats on the install. I've had a fluidine radiator sitting in my living room for almost a year now. I think you've inspired my to get off my but and install that puppy. I just got the lethal performance inter cooler reservoir recently and that could go on too.
