robertlane
As we look forward to 2012, we'll most likely do another Team Shelby Dearborn event. If you went to the 2011 event, we tried to shake things up some by adding the Michigan Proving Grounds (MPG) and by having some Ford executives to mix and meet with. For 2012, we've investigating some new places to visit, including a Shelby/Mustang cruise to Lake Michigan's Sleeping Bear Dunes as well as new Ford facilities to visit. As we're a community, your feedback is important to making Dearborn a continued success, so we please ask for you comments, suggestion and opinions on how Dearborn 2012 can be a great event. Grabber
I have been to both 2008 and the 2011 event and enjoyed both tremendously. I would pay more money to have something else then hot dogs at the 2 mid day lunch events. That's the only thing I can think of.

It was a very well run event. I enjoyed every aspect. A cruise/rally/poker run would be cool. Nit picking: Agree food could be up a notch for an increased event fee. Some kind of driving event would be cool (drag strip, autocross, track day or half track day). Great job! Hope I can make it again.
shel-b001
Yes Dearborn for 2012 , more track time or a drag strip . Sharon & Robert did a great job , most of us don`t realize how much work it is to put this on . Thanks Again . Looking forward to 2012.
Shelby101
Robert, Thought you folks did a great job. Agree with having something other for lunch even if it cost a little more. The Michigan Proving Grounds were great and I would want to do that again. Where else can one get on a 5 mile trach with 1.5 mile straights and 1 mile banked turns. That was awsome. Of course any high speed track would work. I have had 2 engine plant tours and 2 car factory tours, so I would be open to something else. I do like woodward and the tie in we had. sebecke1
Hi Robert, Teresa and I attended in both 2008 and 2011. I pretty much agree with Bill. The Michigan Proving Grounds trip was great and worth the price of admission in my opinion. I also enjoyed the Woodward Cruise. Scott
mywickedshelby
Well, we could camp at the Michigan Proving Grounds this time. Drive it for 3 days in a row. And Pouch deer in the down time to HELP FORD reduce the animal v. car issues all year round!!! ALSO.......I am drop shipping the bagels directly to the host hotel from NYC so they will be 24 hours FRESHER next year...........

MY500SS
Again, Dearborn was a BLAST...... . Worth every mile traveled to get there. Robert and Sharon did a fantastic job. You two are the best. The Proving Grounds was a high point for me. Maybe we could get the longer tour (Our driver Jose said there was a longer tour) and get the high speed track again. 07SGT0547
I think it would be great with or without being in conjunction with the Woodward Dream Cruise :-) Just checked the Aug 2012 Calendar... Woodward Dream Cruise is on the SAME WEEKEND as the Monterey Event showcasing the COBRA... So for me the PERFECT setup would be driving out to Wicked's BBQ on the 1st Weekend in Aug... Stopping by Dearborn for the 2nd Weekend... Then making my way out to Monterey for the Vintage Racing on the 3rd weekend... And finally back home near the end of the month Just have to figure out how to take all this time off and still pay the bills And that doesn't include the 50th BASH, ShelbyFest in Hermann or Mid-America in Tulsa
Slabo
This was my first time to Dearborn and it was a total blast. I did think that the proving ground was the highlight of the trip. I would definitely want to do that again. Adding something new especially driving sounds like fun. Also, I do love me some hotdogs but I would be fine with another lunch option

Sharon and Robert Thank You Thank You Thank You! 2012 is a for sure for me! would not miss it for the world! Agree with the dog thing but it's not about the food! MikeVA
This was also my first time. It was great to do the niche line thing and meet the builders and that was a good link-in with MPG ( which was at the top of my fun meter ). The opportunity for photos in front of the plant and with the builders was great. As I said MPG and the high speed track was my highlight of the trip. The production line tour was fun and educational but I could easily skip that in 2012. I also liked the option where you provided transportation to the one dinner location so I did not have to worry about parking the car or having a beer. YZD263
Hi Robert, I've been to all three Dearborn events and each of them was great but 2011 was the best so far for me. You and Sharon did an amazing job! For 2012, I would certainly keep the Michigan Proving Ground on the schedule. This was the absolute highlight of the event for me. Tying the event with Woodward was a great idea and the diner at the Henry Ford Museum was also a nice addition. As far as the plant tours are concerned, as several members have already attended at least one of the previous Dearborn events, maybe one of the tours could be replaced with some other activity; a diriving event if possible, I would tend to keep the Romeo plant tour rather than Flat Rock, as it is close to MPG and gives many members the opportunity to meet with their engine builders. Although this is only a minor point for me, I aslo agree with the comments made about hot dogs at lunch. A little variety wouldn't hurt, even if it costs a bit more. Everything else is spot on..... the MPG is a must for anyone who was not there before, I'll be leaving my spot open for someone else.....
kstrong
2011 Dearborn will be hard to top. :happy feet: We could do a day at Fords 2 and 1/2 mile track and Proving Grounds. Some of us were offered this but it ran at the same time as one of our Team Shelby events. Sounded like a great time.

NordicShelby
I loved the proving grounds and the factory tour. I would like to see some road course racing at a local track and a cruise to the dunes would be cool. My suggestion is to start the event by checking in on Tuesday, Wednesday would be the mustang factory tour in the morning and the proving grounds in the afternoon. Thursday would be a track day. Friday would be the cruise to the dunes. Saturday would be at spent at Mustang Alley.
