Cali_KR
Only 56, just starting to live...too young... He certainly had his detractors, but say what you will, he didn't create products, he created culture. I truly admired the man, to be ousted from the company he started, only to come back and lead it to worldwide promenance. What an Icon. May he rest in peace, and here's to Apple to continue to innovate and lead the way, becuase we can be sure, that what Mr. Jobs would've wanted. SVT NAJA
Steve's career burned twice as bright, his life half as long. We lost a shining light today... Edit to include his commencement speech at Stanford University in 2005. Very inspiring...

MMcGuirk
I had the experience of calling on Steve and Next Computer as a vendor in the mid 80's. He was tough, driven and way ahead of us all. It was a bitch selling custom semiconductors to him. He broke every rule to get the design he wanted and his designs were the most dense and lowest power. My applications engineer learned a ton from that experience - he started his own company 3 years later. That company is now public and my apps guy is worth 100's of million$! This kind of genius will be missed.
