shel-b001
I guess the scratches & chipped corner are free , but considering the trip it had I guess it isn`t to bad.

Kempf
Hi! You are making me nervous . I got it from the Revised Parts blow-out that Tasca had in the Shelby GT500 Classified Ads. http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php?/topic/65372-revised-parts-blow-out/page__hl__tasca There where 4 supersnake hoods. On the the Phone the guy talked about 3 Generation or 3 batch ss hood. Have to call Tasca tomorrow. Regards! Kempf
Nitro
Hi, Here are some pictures of my 2007 SS hood before paint for comparison. It appears they have sent you a 2010 hood instead of the 2007 one. If you look closly at the front of the hood in my pictures you will notice that the 2007 hood comes to a slight point in the center and the one you have does not. Better to have found this now than after it was prepped and painted.
Max Cruise
Looks like a 2010-2011 Hood to me to, not a 2007-2009 Hood! Thats why I guessed it as 2010 model. It resembles one, exactly.
Kempf
Hi! Thanks for your effort guys. I have called the painter this morning, and he will make some new pictures today, With a real camera and not a Iphone, I hope that the hood only looks like 2010 hood because of bad light. Thanks. Kempf
Hi! Case solved. My usual luck has striked again. The hood is a 2010, and Tasca made a mistake. So i will try to find a buyer over here. Thanks for your help, or my loss would have been much bigger. Stephan
2010KonaBlueGT
Hi! Case solved. My usual luck has striked again. The hood is a 2010, and Tasca made a mistake. So i will try to find a buyer over here. Thanks for your help, or my loss would have been much bigger. Stephan Stephan, The GOOD news is, that hood should be *real* easy to sell and probably at a pretty decent profit. The Shelby 2010+ SS hoods are rarer than hens teeth and we can't even get them on this side of the pond. I read back through the ad that Tasca had and boy, do I wish he would'a said they were 2010 hoods! In fact, I figuered they weren't becasue the price he listed is for a 2007-2009 hood, not a 2010+ hood (which was listed on SPP site for something like $1697.00 when they had them listed for a very short time). I'm assuming you paid a premium to get it shipped over to you but even still, if you take the MSRP Shelby sells the 2010 hoods for (IF they ever get enough to sell to the public again) and add the prep work you had done (which would need to be done regardless), you can probably recoup your shipping PLUS a few bucks. Don't let it go cheap. They are pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to get so hold your ground on your price. And I also assume that they're harder to get over there than they are over here. Now, having said that "old buddy, old pal"...FRIEND!...If you DO decide to sell it cheap and are willing to ship it to the US, I'd be REAL interested in it! <lol> Shoot, my brother and sister in law just moved from DE to the US and he could'a had it shipped with all of his belongings for nothing (The US Military pays for his moving expenses). Dang, another opportunity missed....story of my life; A day late or a dollar short! I won't say "good luck" because you really don't need any. That thing will sell itself. Kempf
Hi! Well then maybe i have a little luck then. :D Only problem over here in Germany people exspect to get a hood that is free of any issues, scratches and a small peace of corner missing. Actually im not interrested in any profit, just enough to get a 07-09 ss hood. Painter has send me some more pictures, i will try to post them later. Regards! Robert M
Hi! And some more. Stephan Thanks Stephan. There had been some discussion/speculation that there was in fact a ram air plenum incorperated behind the hood scoops that "could be opened up" to make the 2010-up hood ram air functional. The pictures you have posted verify that there is no plenum to open up for ram air functionality from the hood inlets. R

Kempf
Yeah,he has clarified it in his previous post. They were mistaken. Its '10-'11. Hi! Doesen´t look like it is going to be easy to sell this hood here in Germany. So if anyone is interrested i will be willing to send it back to the states. I work in Hamburg and we have a big habour here, so I will be able to send it by boat. I am not interested in earning any money, I just want enough to be able to get a hood that I can use. Drop me a mail and we can work something out. tattoostudio.danmark@t.online.de Thanks in advance! Stephan kempf
Kempf
Hi! Looks like i may have found somebody who can help me out here. I have been offered to trade the hood for a true fiber venom II hood. I have searched some pictures on the internet, and have found some different ones, but have not found any where i can compare the Original 2007-SS hood with the true Fiber venom II hood. All the pictures i have found are from different angles, making a comparison of the two hoods very difficult. To me the Original SS hood looks a little rounder than the Venom. But that again it could be because of the different angleanyway anywhay, if you should choose between the two hoods wich one would you go for? And why? Thanks in advance! 07SS330
Why won't Tasca take the hood back? They are the one that made the mistake. They should pay to ship the hood back to them and replace it with what you thought you were buying ( a 2007-2009 Supersnake Hood)
Kempf
Hi! They will take it back, but will only refund the money paid for the hood and us shippingcosts, that means that i will loose around 450 euro(Shipping by boat to germany, customs, tax, shipping here in Germany) I have mailed and asked them who has to pay for shipping back to the states, and have recieved no answer yet( 6 days). regards Kempf

Regards Stephan But is it documented in writing on the invoice? 2007-2009 Super Snake hood.............. If you have documentation that "they" made the mistake, then yes, "they" should make it right. If this is true, I would move up the chain of command until you get to someone who is willing to stand by their products and services. If no one is willing to do that, it should be made known to other "future buyers". If you post pictures of your invoice and the "mail with admitted mistake", there is not a lot more that can be said, it should be made right.
