Finally got the '12 lowered

So I finally got the Eibach Sportline springs and adjustable sway bars installed. I got away with caster/camber bolts instead of the entire adjustable plates and I used a BMR adjustable pan hard bar to recenter the axle. I am still using the stock SVTPP struts and shocks but I will most likely change those out for either the Eibach set or D-specs here in the coming months.

I have a UPR double adjustable upper control and mount sitting in the office waiting on a set of billet lower control arms and relocation brackets due to go on in a few weeks which should help the pinion angle a bit. Eibach claims 1.3" drop in the front and 1.7" in the rear, but I am measuring around 1.5" up front and almost 2" in the rear. The car is definitely much more planted and drives like it is on rails at speed far exceeding the capabilities of the stock rubber. Under 20 mph in parking lots and it's definitely stiffer and harsh at moments.

Aesthetically the car looks much better, the gaps in the wheel wells is gone and the car has a much better stance. This is how a SVTPP car should come from the factory.

I love the look and stance from this angleIMG_3910.jpg

Tejas 500,

Wonderful car and great stance!

Did you just install the Eibach Sportline springs or did you change other parts like jounce bumpers / strut mounts / adj. panhard bar / LCA brackets..?

OUUPSS...Sorry...Jumped on this, looking at your (GREAT) pictures... without reading all your explanations :finger:

But by the way, why would you change the stock SVT shocks?

Car looks great...I also just did lowering springs on my '12, but went with the Eibach Pro series springs. hard to see in this picture with a black car and shadows, but it drop approximately 1" all around. The ride is much smoother with the progressive style springs...a great enhancement (looks and ride quality) over the SVTPP springs. Next up is an adjustable panhard bar to recenter the rear end...it shifted about 1/4" to the drivers side by lowering the car. Did you change the strut tower mounts or keep the factory units?

J,

I went with only the Eibach Pro springs. Lowered the front 1 1/4" and rear 1 1/2". Ride is firm but not harsh. Handles WAY better both in cornering and braking. You will also need an ajustible panhard bar to center the axle. I went with the Steada panhard bar. The Eibach Pro Plus suspension kit should be even better. Go for it. Also you will need shorter rear bump stops. Either cut down the stock ones or by shorter after market ones. If you don't, when you hit a bump the car will bang into the stock bump stops and upset the car.

+1

I have it on my 12'

It's a great kit for spirited driving.

Good looking also!

Did you put on Adjustable Panhard Bar? If so which one? Did you due fill Pro plus kit?

I have

- Eibach "PRO PLUS" (springs + sway bars)

But the sway bars are supposed to be the same as the ones in the FR3 kit / I read somewhere Eibach manufacture those also for FRPP.

- Adjustable panhard bar (Competition Engeneering Nbr.2136) you need it with those springs.

But basically adjustable panhard bar are all the same (Ford , BMR, etc...) I would recommend you take poly bushings on both ends (no heim).

It's a good compromise.

Go to my Gallery to look at the 12' if you want to check out the height of the car with those springs.

The "PRO SYSTEM PLUS" is a more complete kit (It adds the shocks) but they are not adjustable...like the ones of the FR3 kit.

Sounds Good, I'm not so much worried about the adjustable shocks because I'm just looking to sharpen up the ride a little. I most likely will only track it for fun and want a kit that'll allow me to do that. It sounds like the Pro Plus Kit and Panhard Bar is the way to go. I like the way your 12' looks just what I want. Now the question is SHOULD I get the FR3 just because of the adjustable shocks for ease of adjustment?

So just got off the phone with Eibach and they stated that they dont make a specific kit for the 2012 Gt500s because they never got their hands on one. They also stated that guys have been putting on their older 2010 and 2011 kits onto the 12s. So my question is is there any difference between 11 and 12 suspensions? The Pro Plus Kit with sway bars front and rear, shocks, springs and Poly bushings is about $1000 bucks they said. Maybe less if you shop around. So Patrick you stated you put it on your 12, any issues with it being designed for older (10 - 11) shelbys?

None.

That kit installed on my car with zero issues.

The 11 and the 12 are pretty much the same cars.

A difference exists, but between the 10' and 11' : It's the weight of the engine (alum. vs iron), and there are posts about why there is no differences in suspension kits regarding the front springs rates...

I did not care and do not see obvious reasons to worry about it.

My car is not "nose in the air" nor does it feel a bit harsh on the front.

It's handling is firm but not harsh at all.
