Grabber11GT
So brought my car in for an oil change about 2 weeks ago...check engine light came on on my way to dealer....They stated it was just a faulty O2 sensor and they would order one. Took a week for some reason to get back in to get it replaced. The car started progressively getting worse drive wise. Dealer stated it was ok to drive. Brought it back in yesterday to get the sensor replaced. Picked car up and driving away immediately noticed problem. NO POWER!! Get on the gas and see that the blower is only boosting about 3 lbs. Also getting a bad noice from the blower. Sounds like a bad gear or bearing in the blower. Go back, dealer says that it's that the cat is bad. I told them, bull sh*t. Someone reported to me that they saw your tech flying up the road in my car at a high rate of speed. You need to fix my car back to orignal running status or hand over the keys to the Boss 302 in your show room! Lets see how today goes! Drove by this morning and see the car up on the lift with the hood up...
ChrisSD
Dealers suck so bad. About 1 in 100 Ford techs are good.
MichaelP
In a previous topic someone mentioned that some Ford dealers have SVT certified techs... I did not know that but it may be something to ask about at your dealer.. I would be surprised if your blower was trashed by the Tech. I have almost 4K miles on my 2010 and most of those are all track miles at full throttle and no OEM part (other than rotors and pads) has needed to be replaced. Let us know what they find.. M. The O2 sensor being bad would allow the fuel ratio to be off, in turn burning up (melting) the cat/s. The plugged cats would affect your boost because the blower is trying to blow against a big restriction. My bet is, when they told you to drive the car with a bad EGO sensor, that took out the cat/s. Good thing you have warranty! And I throw it right in THEIR lap too. Phill
Grabber11GT
OH it'll be thrown on their lap. like I said, they say that the cat was "pretty clogged up' We'll see. Just didn't like the noise coming from the blower when it was trying to boost..maybe it's ok. Should know tomorrow. Also had some new rubbers put on, waiting to get to drive it to see how they are. I have a certified SVT tech. He is the only person that touches my car. Great guy and great mechanic. Sounds like I am lucky based on others feedback. The dealer is the only SVT dealer in the state to my knowledge. Last time in I had it in for a simple oil change, he added some extra comments on the service bill that made me laugh. He said "sadly client refused to install whipple SC upgrade". Oil change performed as requested."

2010KonaBlueGT
In a previous topic someone mentioned that some Ford dealers have SVT certified techs... My Dealer has a SVT Certified Tech. He is the *only* one that they let touch my Shelby. I went in yesterday to get my last "free oil change" (they give free oil changes for the first 2-years) and the SVT Tech was off for the day. I deal with TWO people in Service there....Dawn and Ernie (the Service Mgr). Ernie saw me coming in and waved me down. I told him what I was there for (it was 4:30!) and he said "let me take care of it". Phill (the SVT Tech) was at HOME and Ernie called him to see if he could come in to do a OIL CHANGE on my Shelby. I was like, "GEEZ Ernie, I'll bring it back tomorrow or Monday. Dawn suggested Monday so I'll be back on Monday. Another thing is, I put a Shelby 8-qt. oil pan on my car so it takes two more quarts than a stock Shelby. They use Full Syn. oil so I was SURE it'd get a additional charge for the 2 extra quarts. Nope, they fill it to the FULL MARK on the dipstick and don't charge me any extra. My point is, they (Phil Long Motor City Ford) won't let ANY Tech touch my car, even for something as "simple" as a oil change. Only the SVT Tech (also named Phil) touches my car. Get with your dealer and see if they have a SVT Tech. If they don't, find a dealer that DOES! They have to attend XXX Classes on SVT products to get the Certification and they are the dealers top techs to start with. They don't just hand out SVT Certs. to chimps!
