SVT Handling Pack question

Recommended Posts

Looking for some feedback on the Ford SVT Performance Handling Pack. The part number is M-FR3-MSVTA. Bought my 2011 GT500 (new) about 2 months ago. Could not find the color combo I wanted with the optional PP installed. Plus, the one I bought I got at a pretty good price. Is this the (same) optional Performance Pack typically installed as the factory option? If no, what is the diff? The main reason I am looking at this is I want to "level" the car out and lower it a bit. Not digging the jacked up rear end.

Also, looking at the 65mm throttle body. Is this worth the money to add using the stock supercharger?

Just joined the forum and look forward to learning more here....

Regards,

Chris

In my opinion if you are going to upgrade suspension go with the FRPP setup or go griggs racing. The TB will help I am sure but you will have to get a tune. I bet most folks here would agree to get a custom John Lund tune.

I would have to disagree and will recommend Eibach over FRPP. Better quality everything. Griggs is the ultimate for this car, but boy is that stuff pricey. I wouldn't shell out that kind of dough unless it was a dedicated track car or I had tons of scratch to throw around for S&G's. If you are interested in the Grigg's stuff at a great deal PM me, I happen to know a guy selling a NIB Griggs GT40 kit w' Watts for way under retail.

Dumb question possibly, but isn't the FRPP the one I referenced?

No the FRPP is one step up from the SVT handling pack. The eibach from what I hear is really good too...

Little help if you have a minute. I'm not finding anything that will fit on a 2011 other than the M-FR3-MSVTA.

This is the only suspension upgrade I see from the Ford Racing Catalog...which is the M-FR3-MSVTA ..Im pretty sure this is the FRPP upgrade.... This is a nice package from Ford with all the pieces at a great price.. I think many people on this board have this upgrade.. If you just want to lower car and take to track occasionally this would be a good choice. If you want a dedicated track car with occasionally STREET use check out the Griggs stuff.. Not sure where you are located but if you go Griggs send me PM and I can tell you who I used for install.

Thanks for the help all. Not track use in the near future - maybe in the Spring. Since winters are so nasty here in the Midwest, I'll be covering it and putting it to bed for the winter come November. I have no desire to drive it with salt residue on the roads. I'm so anal, I don't even drive it if there is rain forecast! The only time it was even been washed is when the dealer did it at time of delivery. Just do a little dusting and quick wax to keep it new looking.
