Cool things that I have or have seen for the GT500

Recommended Posts

Best things:

1. JLT Intake and Evo tune (whatever stage you take it to) - have this

Why is it great? Cool looks, kick ass performance, and fantastic support from good people like Jay and Fred. You guys make it, I'll buy it!

(Kenne Bell is extremely cool, but I am not there yet!)

2. Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter - have this

Why is it great? Unbelievable shifts - solid performance. You WILL NEVER miss 3rd again

3. LCA's (part of the Evo ultiamate suspension package which I have or otherwise)

Why are they great? Killed the wheel hop and really feel like they hold the car to the road

4. Silver Horse Racing Louvers - on order (from Jay at jlttruecoldair.com)

Why do I like them? Very cool look and durability over the "stick ons" that I hve now

5. SoS Gauge Pod (A-Pillar) - have it (bought from Lethal Performance)

why do I like this? Cool to look at, excellent fit and finish

6. New Wheels / Tires - dont have, really want, undecided....

Why do I want this? Get a grip, man! :hysterical2:

7. "Objects in Mirror Appear to be Losing" lettering for driver's mirror - dont have, really want

Why? Just to be a smart ass!

I could go on, but would love to here some of the more unique upgrades / mods people have made. Y'all are a seriously bad influence on me when it comes to buying stuff!

I don't disagree with anything you said above. I like my glue on radiator cover as it ads a little more to the all black plastic under ther hood. I'd also like the fuse box cover but SA refused to call me and take my order....even after a voice mail about it (more on this in a minute)

I recently added the adjustable Panhard bar and brace from Steeda to my car and like it a lot & a very easy install. I did this at the same time as LCA's and an adjustable UCA (also Steeda) and while I've only driven a few miles since then I can tell the rear end is a little stiffer and feels like it hugs the road a little better....not to mention there is a little weight savings and looks improvement (but you can't see much unless you look under the car.

Window Tint - this is a good thing on these cars - I got 20% and really like the look. For a coupe i would think it would be even better.

Corsa axel backs - I list Corsa because I love mine but any would be good. Corsa 's have no drone zone that i've found in any gear and are not overly loud at idle or easy cruise but let people know if you get on it. A little more $ than others but good. ***Note the tip I got on here was to adjust from the X pipe forward by loosening bands and turning the pipes to align the exhaust tips - it was a simple fix for my right side (passenger side) being lower with the aftermarket exhaust - I thought that was cool

Gears - I have not yet taken the plunge here but after tires i could see this happening. The debate will be where but certainly a mod worth listing

Although it is not at all performance related the Hood struts are a must. I like mine from Steeda. I also have the dead pedal and really like it. Another not performance Mod that had worked well for me is the tail light trim from SA. Once I finally got it i love the real metal and brushed aluminum that matches what is on the car already. I have the rear tail lights, 3rd brake light, and quarter lamp trim. They have quarter window trim of the same type for coupes that looks good but since I have a vert can not get it.

Although you didn't list this here is what I have not liked so far that I've seen:

1. the radio/ac/light knob covers from Dad's - I like the company, but found this product to be flimsy and cheaply done. Others have said when installed they are good but I couldn't bring myself to using them and sadly dumped them into the trash....my one and only mod that I disliked so far

2. Probably the biggest downer I've had has been the effort required to give $ to SA - I had to really work to get my order for the tail lamp trim and now I can't get them to take my order for the fuse box cover. I would like to say I'll just be done woth them but sadly i really like their products in most cases....the dificulty in ordering is costing them money for sure and that along with the issues getting things ready to be sent when they say it will be has left a bad taste in my mouth for buying from them.....especially because i know I will keep buying small things there - I would have a hard time buying a large item from them for fear it would never come. I have the dash plaque ordered as well but understand the wait time. I will be shocked if 6-8 weeks doesn't turn out to be 3-6 months though and expect some lost or mixed up orders along the way. I hope to not be one of them.

The main thing I would like to see is more GT500 Specific suspension options. I'd love to see a package with adjustable shocks (and would give my left nut...not the chrome one....for remote adjustable shocks that are done from in the drivers seat so you could adjust at a stop light :D. Throw in GT500 (vert too!) sway bars and springs and I am all over it.

My most wanted but not had mod is tires....and what i really want is a rim that looks stock but is 11" wide for the rear so I can put the 305 drag radials on it and keep the stock front rims!!!

Your vert and my coupe were separated at birth - almost identical mods.

+1 on what you said above (at least the things I have Corsas, etc.)
