New GT500 owner

I picked up an 08 Vapor Silver GT500 convertible with the black rocker stripe this weekend and I'm loving it. I've never owned a Ford and before this the highest horsepower car I owned was a 68 LeMans back when I was 16. I've owned lots of small nimble cars, my last was a Lotus Elise. I was looking for a 60's muscle car to change things up and I saw a GT500 at a local classic car dealer that just grabbed me. One drive and I was hooked. I got to drive over to the coast and play a little bit over the weekend and this car is awesome!

I spent a lot of time with my friend Search on this site to get some background on the car before I wrote the check, so thanks for all the great info.

So many cars, so little time.

Thanks David. I clicked the link and the car has already been registered but it came up as a 2007. It's a 2008 so how do I correct that? I updated with my info also.

ragtopfever,

Congrats on your new Shelby and welcome to Team Shelby! Post up some pics when you get a minute between WOT trips to the coast...

Thanks, I'm in San Jose (profile updated).

Would be great to get plugged in to the local scene and check out other cars. I'm not planning to go crazy with mods but I like the idea of the FRPP intake and exhaust it it's not too loud.

Congrats on the purchase. Nothing like hearing that Shelby start up. What a beautiful sound. I have had three mustangs starting in '69 that had a whopping 200 CI engine, then a 1972 Mach I which I traded for a dodge custom van when I moved to LA in the early 70's. (What a IDIOT I was then). I just purchased a month ago a 2012 Black with Silver stripes Shelby with the SVT Package. I told myself that it would be a weekend car and I would drive my pickup during the week........that ain't happening, I just can't stand knowing its in the garage. I'll post some pic's of the beauty later.
