Change the oil stick from stock handle to shelby handle?

Thanks for your help......

You push the pin on the old one out with something thin enough to fit in the hole. I think I used a small screwdriver. Be careful that you don't lose the pin, because you need it for the new handle. Then, you take the dipstick, insert it into the Shelby handle. Line up the hole in the dipstick with the hole in the Shelby handle and then insert the pin removed from the OEM dipstick. The hardest part is getting the pin out of the old one.

It's called a roll pin.

Lowes or The Home Depot will have a selection of roll pins in their speciaty fastener section.

You won't likely find the right length but just buy one a little longer and grind the excess off with a bench grinder. Take the handle with you to get the right diameter pin.

Or you can get a whole selection of them at your local Harbor Freight.

Roofers use a magnetic bar on wheels to roll around after a job to pick up roofing nails. If you wanted to find the lost pin, that is. Easier to just buy a replacement, I suppose.

Phil thanks--i dont have abench grinder--- i do have a tool that cuts of screws/nails to length--ill try that if its too long--i was thinking of gluing a nail that almost fit, then i figured with my luck itd fall out into the oil pan---this is why i dont do any mods--in fact one time years ago,i was changinmg plugs in a 74 Chevy wagon, dropped a plug--it never hit the ground, and i never found it--Im going to make one more pass at fidning it by taking everything from under my bench and see if it somehow bounced into a box of tiles---bob

There is one more option....Hobby stores have tiny diameter (2mm and 1/16) machine screws and locknuts.
