10SHELBY
This thing is looking a little ruff and I want to clean it if possible. Anyone cleaned their stock air filter on the Shelby? If so how and what did you use? I am going to the MCA Grand National show in Waldorf this weekend and want to look my best. I would appreciate any help! Rudy PS Anyone else going? inyadreems
You can try to light brush and air out the dirt, but the filter can't be cleaned.
2nd2none
just take it off and shake off what lose dirt/debris you can. maybe the bottom side looks cleaner and you can just rotate it around some. won't help you for the weekend but you can order the JLT 127mm intake and it comes with a brand new huge filter http://jlttruecoldair.com/ZenCart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=329_330&products_id=

If you decide to replace your filter a very good alternative is the Airaid High Flow Filter. May increase air flow a bit and looks good.

I struggled with it before realizing it was simple as that. It looks like it was plenty big to fit over the opening...but it wasn't - until I opened up the clamp completely. It slipped on easily after that.

Are you sure it was the correct filter? The part number was 861-399 on the one that I got. Hopefully they'll sort it out for you...they seem like a pretty good company. Blue they are terrific--i emailed them and got a response right away--after several emails last evening Mark, their CS rep, told me theyd send me a new filter, and would like the one i have sent back--The filter itself isnt marked with a part number, so i was wondering the same thing--is it the correct filter--it has a notch on the bottem taht would fit into the notch on our cars,so i figure its the coreect number--but their service is great, just hope the next one fits---bob

Either way - glad to hear that you had a pleasant experience with the representatives from the company.

It goes on if you have the right unit, but it's tough no doubt. You could probably get away with a very small amount of oil to help also. GL.
