twobjshelbys
Hey guys, REALLY appreciate all the good will, I am getting incredibly excited to see/feel the changes... Here is a list of everything they're doing to my baby: Black Ford (Whipple 550) Supercharger with Cold Air Intake 4-Wheel Brake Upgrade (Baer Rotors & Pads) and Stainless Brake Lines Shelby Boost Gauge (Swap Blue LED from Oil Temp) - Already had the gauges GT/SC Side Stripe & Under Hood “Factory Supercharged” Badging & Shelby GT/SC Cert Full Shelby Billet Cooling System Upgrade New Metco Pulleys and Metco Tensioner Support Plate Front Brake Ducts & PIAA driving lights New Stage 3 Clutch Kit (flywheel, disc, pressure plate, slave cylinder, throw out bearing) Shelby 4.6L Black Etched Valve Covers I am also having them do my Stripes/Scoop while it's there as well... :happy feet: Anton Remember the line from Jaws? "You're gonna need a bigger boat"? Well, you're gonna need some better tires. Trust me on this. The original tires are hard as a rock and will be prone to breaking loose when you stomp on it. Good for burnouts, not so good when trying to accelerate into a left turn from a side street, for example...

Did you worry much about lack of a spare tire on the trip out there? I'm thinking of doing the same thing next year.....also from GA (Atlanta). Rev Dennis
Speaking of tires. What size seems to work when you do the GT to GT/SC upgrade? I have a set of GT500 18 x 9.5 wheels already. Looking for input from those with empirical knowledge. I know stock size will be insufficient, especially on the rear.
NordicShelby
Those GT500 take offs will work fine. I have them for the street and I like them a lot. I use to have Nitto 555's and they sucked. When it was at all a little chilly I could not get any traction.
Rev Dennis
Thanks NordicShelby 255/45 front and 285/40 rear is what TireRack says. I only have the wheels. I need to get tires. Thinking of getting Continental Extreme Contact DWs

Thinking of getting Continental Extreme Contact DWs Shelby has some KR tires that are softer tread compound. Here is a link to them http://www.shelbystore.com/Shelby-GT500KR-Front-Tire-p/x-krtire-front.htm http://www.shelbystore.com/Shelby-GT500KR-Rear-Tire-p/x-krtire-rear.htm If you wait to till Christmas they might have another sale on them. Not sure if they will or not. I bought two sets of these tires. When I bought them they were $100 each so I don't know why they are so expensive now.
