Check Manual Transmission and Clutch

NOTE: The Shelby GT500 equipped with a manual

transmission may exhibit a "clutch chatter" during

initial launch of the vehicle. The clutch chatter may

be present in 1ST and REVERSE gears, and is

considered a normal characteristic caused by the

cerametallic clutch lining. The clutch chatter has no

effect on the performance or durability of the

vehicle. Recommend comparison to a like unit. If

the symptom is excessive compared to a like unit,

refer to Workshop Manual Section 308 for

additional manual transmission diagnostic

information.

NOTE: The Shelby GT500 equipped with a manual

transmission may exhibit a "clutch hiss" noise

from the driveline during clutch engagement. The

clutch hiss noise is most noticeable during initial

engagement of the clutch into 1ST and/or

REVERSE gears, and is considered a normal

characteristic caused by the cerametallic clutch

lining contacting the pressure plate and flywheel

metal surfaces. The clutch hiss noise has no effect

on the performance or durability of the clutch or

transmission. Recommend comparison to a like

unit. If the symptom is excessive compared to a like

unit, refer to Workshop Manual Section 308 for

additional manual transmission diagnostic

information.

NOTE: The Shelby GT500 equipped with a manual

transmission may exhibit a light "gear rollover"

noise while the clutch is engaged and the

transmission is in NEUTRAL. Gear rollover noise is

a normal characteristic under these condition. If the

noise is believed to be abnormally loud, compare

to a like unit before attempting any repair. Refer to

Workshop Manual Section 308 for additional

manual transmission diagnostic information.

NOTE: The Shelby GT500 equipped with a manual

transmission may exhibit a "gear rattle" noise from

the driveline during 1ST and 2ND gear slow or

gradual launch of the vehicle. The gear rattle noise

is only present in 1ST and 2ND gears and is

considered a normal characteristic caused by contact

pattern. The gear rattle noise has no effect on the

performance or durability of the vehicle.

Recommend comparison to a like unit. If the

symptom is excessive compared to a like unit, refer

to Workshop Manual Section 308 for additional

manual transmission diagnostic information.

When I took my Shelby out of the shop today to go for a ride, the first thing I noticed was the hiss. That is so darn cool. What a great way to start out your ride. I had to mow the yard and field today, but the weather held for a great 25 mile ride. Funny how my Harley Davidson has now taken the back seat of my riding choices. At least till it gets warmer.

hey when the hiss stops like it did on mine you're in trouble...I lost my slave and master hydraulic cylinder monday...they just died....

Did the clutch pedal go soft and floppy on you? Did you get any Hyd. fluid leaking through the firewall? And no, I'm not trying to be funny. I'm asking a straight question that just sounds funny.

Thanks.

Out here in the desert.... you'll never see a snake that doesn't HISSSSS a little before he strikes!

Great sound, I would have worked that into the marketing somehow.
