stentgraft95
A guy I work with's friend just bought a 2012 Gt500 Black w/ Red stripes and claimed that the dealer told him they were only making a 1000 of these in this color scheme. It doesn't have the red badging like the Red Appearance Package of 07 thru 09 fame so I figure it's just a color choice. I've not heard of any limited versions of the GT500 coming out of Ford and I'm just curious if there are any now or planned in the future that anybody is aware of? andresh53
I think it's just a color choice like you said
Seahorse
Some dealers will tell you just about anything to help peddle cars.
moody03svt
Well I bought one of those "rare color options" back in March on my 2012 GT500. I think I bought the first one in my area or state (NC) because it was early for a 2012. I am waiting for a way to find the production numbers for the 2012 year so I can number my car. Hopefully there will only be 1000
Freak
Assuming the overall production stays the same as last year, 1000 cars is a tad over 18% of the Shelbys built. Assuming he isn't diferentiating between standard red stripes and SVTPP red stripes that number wouldnt suprise me. I remember seeing numbers from the '11MY and black/red was the most popular, though I imagine more than half were SVTPP cars. However, considering there are (if memory serves) 6 color combo options for a black car alone, I don't think I'd be calling 1000 built in that combo limited. Oh, and yes, just a standard color choice.
