Drag times getting better and better

Recommended Posts

I went to a test and tune yesterday morning. I had lots of fun. I drove the Snake to the drag strip, signed in, and hit the track. This was my first time driving at this track. The track was prepped very well. I have the stock SS rims with 275/35/30 Nitto NT05's on the rear. They are almost worn down to slicks and I dropped the pressure down to 15 psi. The temp was about 80 degrees and full sunshine. I have never been able to hook up in first gear on the street or at different tracks in the past. This track was so sticky I hooked up right out of the hole, and only got a little chirp jamming it into second gear. My times were getting better and better untill they shut me down for no jacket or roll bar. I am happy with my best time of 11.47 @ 125 mph. My car is number 545 on the slips. What a great time!

For comparision, check out the the times that were achieved by Gary Patterson and his 725. This was with a M/T Street E.T., basically a treaded drag tire. It looks like you are heading that way.................too bad they shut you down.

10's!! in a 4K+ pound street beast with full interior and all of the creature comforts (Great handling too!), that IS impressive!! and only a 3800 RPM launch!!

yes NHRA requires roll bar if you are 11.49 or quicker....

so many cant take full advantage of the SS at the drag strip- unless you are willing to put a roll bar in her!

Nice times... a 60' time of 1.8X is very respectable on 275's with stock suspension. they must have had the track prepped well and you must have been launching well!

Great times Is this the NTO5 or the NTO5R DR and how do you like them and how many miles do you have on them? I'am thinking about trying the NTO5 315-35 20 on a 11.5 razor . Thanks for your Info. 428cj

I have the standard NTO5's. I only have 2000 HARD miles on them. They are very worn down. The more miles they get, the better they stick. Give them a try. I'm very happy with the Nitto's.
